Victoria and Billy’s Reveal Goes Wrong — and Nick’s Actions Raise Suspicion
Monday, September 26, 2022: Today on The Young and the Restless, Chelsea awaits an update, Adam encounters Sally, and Audra is officially hired.

At Newman Enterprises, Nick questions Victoria as to whether she’s still planning to acquire Chancellor-Winters. She is, and says their dad is on board. Victoria admits to Nick that she’s distracted and says she may have to run out for a little while. He asks if she wants to talk about it. Victoria has to deal with a personal matter with one of the kids and it cannot go wrong. Nick learns that she and Billy are going to tell Johnny that Chelsea is his birth mother. He exhales. “Wow, that’s huge.” He recalls when Adam wanted to tell Christian he was his biological father. It’s something he’ll have to deal with in the future. He assures his sister that her son adores her. Victoria knows that and will always want what’s best for him, but she’s praying she’s made the right choice.
Chelsea spots Billy alone on the coffee house patio and thanks him again for agreeing to tell Johnny the truth and to help her convince Victoria. Billy doesn’t convince Victoria to do anything but says she sees all sides of the situation. He reveals they plan on telling the boy today. Chelsea is excited to think he’ll know who she really is soon. Billy explains they couldn’t see any reason to wait once the decision was made but reminds her there’s no telling how he’ll react. Johnny’s attached to his family and likes his routine — this will be a titanic change. Chelsea thinks it will be a positive step for all of them. Billy hopes she’s right.

At Society, Audra thanks Nate for meeting her this morning, she wanted to continue their conversation from the previous night. Nate asks what she’d like to know before walking into the company. Audra says it won’t matter if they’re not going public — has an official decision been made? Nate hasn’t heard, which is encouraging. Audra asks him to give her the behind-the-scenes dynamic at Chancellor-Winters — she wants to know all the players in the game.
At Chancellor-Winters, Devon and Lily get on a call with Jill and tell her they’re ready to take the company public. Jill declares that they’ve made the right decision and the company will be unstoppable. She asks them to meet with Audra Charles and Lily assures her it’s already set up. They reiterate that they’ll maintain control of 51% of the shares. Jill asks about Billy and Nate and expresses concern. Devon assures her the issue with Nate has been settled and Lily tells her Billy is dealing with a personal matter and will fill her in later. After disconnecting, Devon asks Lily what’s going on with Billy.
At Crimson Lights, Sally and Chloe are working when Adam appears. Chloe suggests they head back to the office. Adam walks over and greets them. Chloe is freaked out when Adam and Sally exchange polite banter. She wonders if someone is ready to explode. Sally has moved on, but they have to co-exist in this town. Adam announces he is moving on with no hard feelings as well. He exits. Chloe is proud of Sally, who confesses he’s still on her mind but less and less every day. Just then, she gets a text from Nick asking her to stop by.
At Society, Nate tells Audra that Jill is a force to be reckoned with but is less hands-on now and hand-picked Lily as CEO, who is only getting stronger by the day. He explains Billy is her COO and significant other and is usually content letting others take center stage. She asks about Devon. Nate says he brought Hamilton-Winters to the party and is nothing if not single-minded. He asks how she got into the business. Audra will get into that after the meeting.
At Newman Media, Sally tells Chloe she has to go upstairs for a brief meeting with Nick. Chloe offers to join her, but Sally thinks he wants a one-on-one. Chloe makes a speech about focusing on the work. Just then, Nick shows up.
More: Watch! Sally called out for lying
In the park, Billy and Victoria watch Johnny playing soccer and muse that there’s no right time for this. He assures her that the boy will never outgrow her love. Victoria wants another minute before telling him. Billy has regrets but Johnny coming into their lives is not one of them. Victoria gets emotional as they remember him as a baby. Billy can’t believe he’s so grown up. He gives Victoria credit for making a stable home despite everything that went on — she’ll always be his mother, forever. Victoria’s ready so Billy calls Johnny over. They ask him to sit down so they can talk.
At Newman Media, Chloe gives Nick and Sally privacy to talk and exits. Nick moves close to Sally and asks if her COO knows about them. She hasn’t said a word to anyone. Neither has he. Nick asks her to dinner, and she offers to check her schedule and get back to him. Nick grins, “Just let me know.” He blocks her way with a smirk, and she eventually leaves the office. Nick exhales.
At Chancellor-Winters, Lily insists to Devon that Billy is committed to his job. He wonders if she’s trying to convince herself or him. She concedes that he’s trying a little too hard to make this position work. He wants to love it but you can’t force something that isn’t there. Nate and Audra walk in, and Nate introduces them to the IPO miracle worker. Devona and Lily learn they’ve had “earlier” conversations.

At Newman, Chelsea tells Nick she’s looking for Victoria and he says she’s out of the office right now. She told him what’s happening with Johnny. Chelsea’s trying to rein in her anticipation; it’s nerve-wracking. She states, “This is big news. Something that could impact a child forever.”
In the park, Billy reminds Johnny about Victoria not being able to have children after Reed. Does he ever think about his birth mother? Johnny says no. They tell him he has every right to know and he’s at an age where they think it might be the right time. Billy tells her his birth mother lives in Genoa City. Victoria adds, “You know her. Chelsea. Connor’s mom.” Johnny grimaces. “I just saw her at the pool the other day. Were you all planning on telling me this behind my back?” He points out he said “no” when they asked if he thought about his birth mom, and they told him anyway. “What’s really going on here?!” the kid exclaims, “Is something going to change?!” Billy and Victoria thought it was time and didn’t want him to hear it from someone else. Johnny snarks, “Great. So, everyone knows my birth mother lives in town?” He declares that he doesn’t want to talk about it ever again and runs off.
At Chancellor-Winters, Audra tells Devon that Nate has been singing his praises. Lily didn’t realize she and Nate knew each other. Audra explains they ran into each other by chance. Lily announces they’ve decided to go public. Audra and Nate are thrilled. Audra explains she’ll do an IPO readiness assessment and help file the paperwork. Devon is glad to have her knowledge and experience. Lily tells her that her energy is infectious. Nate thinks they really made the right decision. The meeting breaks up and Audra is told she’s officially hired. She exits, and Lily and Devon feel they’re in good hands. Nate approves as well. Devon thought Nate would have a stronger opinion since he got to know her. Nate hopes he’s not trying to start something. Devon says it was a compliment; he made a good impression on her. Nate says, “Thanks.”
At Newman, Nick tells Chelsea he knows this will have a big impact on Johnny’s life… and hers. Chelsea isn’t trying to stake a claim to the boy; she did the right thing by giving him to Billy and Victoria to raise. She’s just hoping that he’ll understand she did what she did out of love. Nick feels he’ll understand that she cares about him. Chelsea gets a text from Billy and says, “It’s done. Johnny finally knows who I really am.”
Later, Victoria arrives, and Nick tells her Chelsea came by. Victoria says she’s not her priority and confesses Johnny took it worse than expected.

At Crimson Lights, Chelsea asks Billy how Johnny took the news. Billy informs her that the boy will need time to process the information. Chelsea asks if he was at least a little relieved that it was her. “Does he want to see me?” Billy tells her they won’t push things with him. Chelsea persists. Billy doesn’t think she’s hearing him. “This news really threw him.” He doesn’t want his world to change, and they won’t pressure him to do anything he doesn’t want to do. Billy admits this has all caught him off guard. This was supposed to be about what’s best for Johnny, but it seems she wants more. Chelsea says she just wants him to be okay and wipes a tear as she thanks Billy for filling her in and walks out.
Adam comes upon Chelsea in the park, and she snaps that she’s fine. Adam recalls when she asked to take Connor to see Anita. He’s still not in favor of that but he’s ready to do something as a family. Chelsea will talk to Connor about it. Adam says there’s no time like the present. Chelsea snaps that it’s not a good time for her and accuses him of trying to fill a hole in his own life. She would never use her son to make her life better. “I just want to love him and take care of him. Why don’t people understand that?” With that, she walks away, leaving Adam befuddled.
