Young and Restless alum’s team will produce movie follow-up based on newly-released book.

Black Label Media, the production company of Young and the Restless alum Thad Luckinbill (JT Hellstrom), his brother Trent Luckinbill, and Molly Smith, will co-finance and co-produce the film adaptation of author Cecelia Ahern’s follow-up to P.S. I Love You, entitled, Postscript, along with Blind Side production company. Alcon Entertainment secured the film rights to the newly-released sequel, and produced and financed the original movie, which starred Hilary Swank as Holly, Gerard Butler as her husband Gerry, as well as Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Kathy Bates (Misery) and Lisa Kudrow (Friends). The first movie surrounded Holly finding 10 letters Gerry left behind to help her transition following his death from brain cancer. Soaps.com has the details on Postscript, which will pick up seven years after Gerry’s death and involves Holly being asked to tell the story of her late husband’s letters on her sister’s podcast. Though she’s reluctant to reopen the old wounds having worked hard to move on, Holly agrees. As soon as the podcast airs, terminally ill listeners begin reaching out to Holly seeking advice on how to leave messages for their loved ones as Gerry did for her. As a result, Holly is led on another incredible, life-affirming journey.

Thad Luckinbill last appeared on Young and Restless in March 2019 when his character JT Hellstrom was diagnosed with a brain tumor after becoming abusive in his marriage to Victoria Newman and was taken from the hospital to prison. Luckinbill produced the film, Devotion, a true story of real-life U.S. Navy fighter pilots, Thomas J. Hudner Jr. and Jesse L. Brown in the Korean War, along with his team. Black Label Media is also responsible for the 2018 war epic 12 Strong, in which Luckinbill also played a role, and Netflix’s Sierra Burgess Is a Loser.
