Former Young and Restless actress in new chilling thriller.
Soap opera fans may remember Lyndsy Fonseca, best known for playing Colleen Carlton on Young and the Restless from May 2001 to February 2005. Soaps.com is excited to announce that the former soap opera actress will be starring in one of Lifetime’s new ‘Ripped from the Headlines’ true-based stories next year. Deadline is reporting that Fonseca will appear as Amy Thompson opposite Kirstie Alley (Cheers), who plays Amy’s mother Suzanne, in You Can’t Take My Daughter, which premieres Saturday February 15 at 8:00 PM. The movie is based on a mother’s custody fight to keep her daughter against the man who raped her. While attending law school in Charlotte, North Carolina, Amy is attacked and raped by Demetri (Hunter Burke, Claws), a man she met one time through a friend. After Amy becomes pregnant as a result of the rape, she decides to keep the baby while dealing with Demetri’s continued stalking and harassment prior to the delayed trial for the sexual assault. She soon gives birth to a baby girl and wants nothing more than to start over and sets out for Atlanta, Georgia. However, Demetri locates her six years later and wants what he believes is his – their daughter – which leads to a custody battle like no other…
Linda Berman of Lincoln Square Productions executively produces You Can’t Take My Daughter, along with Rocky Lang of Harbor Lights and Big Dreams Entertainment with Tori Garret directing from writer, producer Karen Leigh Hopkins’ script. Two other new movies added to the ‘Ripped from the Headlines’ series include Poisoned Love: The Stacey Castor Story and Neighbor in the Window.
After leaving daytime, Fonseca appeared in numerous primetime series including long-term roles on Big Love as Donna, Desperate Housewives as Dylan Mayfair, How I Met Your Mother as the daughter, Nikita as Alex and Agent Carter as Angie Martinelli.
