Beloved soap opera makeup artist remembered.
Soaps.com is sad to share the news that a very special member of the Bold and Beautiful and Young and Restless family died earlier this week. Makeup artist Jenna Wittman passed away after being put on life support. Young and Restless actress Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) took to Instagram with the news first and said, “It is with a heavy heart that I share the tragic news of our decades long friend and makeup artist extraordinaire, Jenna Wittman. On life support, with no hope of recovery, I said my goodbyes and wishes for a peaceful journey into her ear this morning. Please join me and the companies of @TheYoungandtheRestless and @TheBoldandtheBeautiful in prayer, wishing her a speedy journey to the most loving eternity. We will always love you, Jenna.” Beneath the post, Beth Maitland (Traci Abbott) commented, “Mel, I’m thankful you could do this!! My heart is broken, but I am grateful for peace…and no more pain. love you!” Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher) added, “Oh no! Godspeed, Jenna,” Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman) posted, “So so sad. Praying and sending lots of love,” Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair Williams) simply said, “Heartbreaking,” and Bold and Beautiful’s Ashley Jones (Bridget Forrester) recalled, “Decades long friendships. She was one of a kind.”

Wittman was a member of the CBS soap opera families of Young and Restless and Bold and Beautiful for decades as a makeup artist and part of the teams nominated for Daytime Emmys and Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Awards, which the Bold and Beautiful team won in 2018. She also worked on the series Indoor Boys, starring Bold and Beautiful alum Alex Wyse (Saul Feinberg) in 2017.
Jones spoke of Wittman in her personal blog, and said, “Jenna was a beloved member of the Bell Family, a wonderful makeup artist. I had known Jenna since my first day on Y&R, where I sat in the makeup chair next to her as she did sweet Sabryn Genet’s makeup. We were close, the three of us. Jenna loved to make others happy, make people laugh. In recent years, she made up some of your favorite faces on CBS soaps and some talk show hosts. I could go on and on about things I’d love to reminisce with her over the past few decades: our trip to NY, long days on sets, getting to chat with Stephen King. But that’s my point, memories that keep popping in my mind that I’d like to share with HER, but no longer can… heartbreaking she went so fast, but I know she feels the outpouring of love from those of us left here on Earth.”

Bold and the Beautiful’s Supervising Producer, Casey Kasprzyk, stated, “Yesterday, #BoldandBeautiful family lost an incredible makeup artist & human being #JennaWittman. Our hearts are heavy, but we smile remembering her sense of humor, dedication to craft, & ability to make everything & everyone better. Halloween 2018 – she made me #StevenSpielberg.” Below the post, actress Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra) added, “Such a beautiful human, my heart is so broken.”
B&B actor Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer) also paid tribute to Wittman and posted, “Today one of the makeup artists at Bold & Beautiful, Jenna Wittman, passed away. She had a beautiful brain. I loved her sense of humor, her stories, her unique perspective on any topic. I keep catching myself wondering what she’d think about today. I’ll miss her so much.” Aaron D. Spears (Justin Barber) commented on Clifton’s tweet and said, “Whoa!!!! Was just chopping it up with her the other day! Floored!!! A part of our posse has wings! 👼 Be easy JENNA rest well my friend!”
