Lurking in the shadows is the Projectionist (Rourke), who preys upon their souls with his collection of disturbing films. As each reel spins its sinister tale, the characters find frightening parallels to their own lives. Benard plays Father Benedict in the film. The film also stars Richard Chamberlain (The Thorn Birds) as Dr. Mirari, Adam Godley (The Umbrella Academy) as Dr. Salvadore, Orson Chaplin (Ray Donovan) plays Jenkins, Eric Nelsen (AJ Chandler, All My Children) takes on the roles of Fred and The Welder, and Kevin Fonteyne (Sun Records) appears as Jason. In Mashit, Benard’s character Father Benedict is the head Monsignor at a catholic school for young children who begin to become possessed, and the father finds himself fighting demons to save them and himself. Grossman appears in Mirari, a tale about a facially scarred woman Anna (Zarah Mahler) engaged to a dreamboat David (Grossman) who offers pre-wedding plastic surgery to soothe her insecurities. Once inside the clinic of Dr. Leneer (Chamberlain), Anna soon realizes the agenda is more sinister. Benard teased the film on Instagram saying, “When the lights go down…your time is up! 📽 #NightmareCinema is now playing in select theaters and available on demand.”

Each one of the five tales in the anthology is directed by one of five iconic horror directors who hail from Japan, Cuba, the U.K., and the U.S. Alejandro Brugués directs The Thing In The Woods, Joe Dante helms Grossman’s tale Mirari, Mick Garris is behind Dead and is the overall director of the film, David Slade directs This Way To Egress and Ryûhei Kitamura directs Mashit, the tale that Benard appears in.
