Alyvia Lind Stars in Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell Remake ‘Overboard’
Another feature film for young soap opera actress.
Young actress Alyvia Lind, who plays “The Young and the Restless’” Faith Newman, will be seen in the movie “Overboard” due out in the spring. Soaps.com has learned the film, which is a remake of the original 1987 film starring Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, has a gender-swapping twist in that the ‘spoiled wealthy yacht owner’ who goes overboard and loses their memory is a male, played by Eugenio Derbez, who also produced. Derbez previously produced and starred in “How to Be a Latin Lover.” The poor single mother, Kate, who finds the confused yacht owner is played by Anna Faris (“Mom”), and Alyvia Lind plays one of her children, Olivia.

Longoria recently announced she is pregnant with her first child.
Lind played young Dolly Parton in Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Loveand before that appeared in Dolly Parton’s “Coat of Many Colors.” The young actress took to Instagram to promote her latest feature film (she previously starred in “Blended”) with much enthusiasm. She shared the trailer and said, “So excited for this to come out in spring!!” In an earlier post, she was seen crying and hugging Anna Faris on the day “Overboard” wrapped, expressed her thanks to everyone for the ‘amazing experience’, and mentioned how much she would miss her co-star, Faris.
Most women have seen the classic original “Overboard” movie at least 10 times, with Kurt Russell as carpenter Dean Proffitt and his longtime love Goldie Hawn as spoiled and wealthy Joanna Stayton. Russell spoke with Today about the reboot and said, “I think that all remakes face the same challenges and that hopefully they can find flaws that they can improve upon.” Watch the rest of the interview from the 2:23 mark and see what Goldie Hawn has to say about the reboot in the Sirius XM interview.
“Overboard” is slated to be released in theatres on May 4.
