Candid interview.

“The Young and the Restless’” Eric Braeden recently visited North Carolina to take in a football game and while there gave an interesting interview to the Charlotte Observer, who were tickled to have Genoa City’s Victor Newman present. Braeden discussed sports (of course!), his difficult childhood, and aging. He said, “I’m 74, I’m proud of it – very proud of it – and will compete along a lot of lines with a lot of people. The only pain in the ass about getting older is your hips. I have one resurfaced hip.”

Braeden also touched on “Y&R’s” long-running success, and said, “Our show was more successful than others over the last 29 years because we have tried to make it as real as possible. I hate this phantasmagoric bullshit. Life is so interesting. Real-life is so interesting.”
