Losing a legend.

Blues legend B.B. King passed away last night in his sleep of illness related to Type II diabetes. He was 89.

King was a Grammy winner, had been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and had even appeared on daytime television. He had a cameo on “The Young and the Restless” in 2001 when he performed at the Crow’s Nest in an episode featuring Jill (Jess Walton). He also had a guest spot on “General Hospital” in 2008 when he played at Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Brenda’s (Vanessa Marcil) wedding.

King’s catalog of hits includes “The Thrill Has Gone,” “Blues Boys Tune,” and “Rock Me Baby.” He was also the owner of the popular chain of concert venues across the United States.
