Y&R Alum Corey Sligh’s Rite Aid lawsuit upheld by judge
Updated October 15 2015:
Former “Y&R” actor Corey Sligh brought a lawsuit against Rite Aid following the beating incident that occurred in the store’s parking lot. In a win for the actor, on Wednesday October 14, a judge denied the drugstore chain’s motion to dismiss part of the suit, which alleges that Rite Aid was negligent and may have breached their duty to protect customers like Sligh because only one security guard was present.

“The Young and the Restless” actor Corey Sligh, who has a recurring role as a waiter/bartender in Genoa City, was hospitalized with a broken arm and other injuries following a run-in with two men on Thanksgiving. According to a CBS report, Sligh and his girlfriend were on their way to deliver Thanksgiving dinner to his friends when they encountered two men driving a car in a dangerous manner in a Rite-Aid parking lot. Sligh asked them to slow down and go home. The allegedly drunk driver then hit him with the car and then got out and beat him. The suspects were later arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department after a witness to the incident followed them and they crashed the car.
