Y&R’s Kristoff St. John’s Son Julian Dead At 24
Updated February 20 2015:
Kristoff St. John tweeted that in his personal life he is 'walking through hell' and linked to a Radar Online report that reveals he and his ex-wife, Mia St. John, still have questions with regard to the death of their son, Julian. The death was ruled as a suicide, but they believe Julian may have been murdered and are preparing a wrongful death suit against La Casa Mental Health Hospital in Long Beach, California where Julian was found deceased with a bag over his head in a bathroom. The St. Johns say that Julian called his mother before his death and expressed fear that another patient was going to kill him. They allege that the facility was negligent and want access to the security footage. Los Angeles lawyer Mark Geragos has been hired by the family and he plans to file the lawsuit soon.
Updated December 3:
Kristoff St. John made a statement regarding the death of his son, Julian, to Entertainment Tonight, which read, "It is with deep sorrow and overwhelming heartbreak that I regretfully share the news that my beautiful, talented, 24 year old son, Julian 'Jewels' St. John, passed away on November 23. He suffered from schizophrenia for many years and tragically lost his life just a few days before Thanksgiving, and two weeks before his 25th birthday. His legacy will live on in our hearts and for those that continue to suffer from this insidious disease. My ex-wife Mia, Julian's sisters Paris and Lola and I, are all devastated beyond words and belief. We mourn the loss of our son, brother, artist, poet, and a giant of a young man. A beautiful life gone much too soon. Julian will forever be remembered as he now takes flight with angels."
Original article November 30:
"The Young and the Restless'" Kristoff St. John, who plays Genoa City's Neil Winters, is dealing with real-life tragedy following the November 23 death of his 24 year-old son, Julian.
St. John's ex-wife, Julian's mother, Mia, broke the news in a Twitter post on Saturday November 29, in which she stated, "On November 23 Kristoff St. John and I lost our beautiful son, Julian St. John. Our son was the light of our lives, an artist with a beautiful mind and spirit. He fought long and hard against an illness for which there is no cure. Unfortunately the pain became too great for him and I dare not say he lost the battle-he simply chose to set himself free. My fight for mental health will continue. They may not find a cure in my lifetime, but we can try and prevent the loss of another beautiful soul. Funeral services will be December 5, his birthday, in Westlake, California. Following services will be a reception and art exhibit from his final collection."

Sad news.
Updated May 27:
Kristoff St. John and his ex-wife Mia St. John have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the nurses and staff at La Casa Psychiatric Health Facility in Long Beach, where their son Julian St. John was a patient. The lawsuit claims the staff lied about the number of times they checked in on their son and even falsified records claiming they had checked in on him when they hadn’t. St. John had been on suicide watch the day he committed suicide, and the security footage from the day showed that he was not regularly checked on.
The St. Johns sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss their lawsuit and their son’s death. Watch the video of their interview right here.
