The Young and the Restless’s Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla Winters) is set to kick off Foster Care Month in May with an inaugural writer’s workshop for foster and adoptive teens. This year’s theme, “Writing Gives My Heart Wings” is designed to empower youth’s creative expression through the written word. The event will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at the Los Angeles Harbor. More than 50 teens are expected to participate in the writing workshop, hosted by the Rowell Foster Children’s Positive Plan (RFCPP) with additional support from Casey Family Services.

The weekend of events culminates with Rowell’s charity’s signature event, the Admiral’s High Tea and Cruise, which will be held on the Sunday, May 3, 2009.

Soaps.com wishes to thank Victoria for all of her hard work to give back! Would you attend the writer’s workshop or tea? What do you think of soap stars who donate time to charity? Leave your thoughts below!
