Neil opens Indigo.
In “The Young And The Restless” history, October 2006, the opening of Neil Winters’ jazz club, Indigo, turned into a crime scene…
Nick, who just opened his new club, isn’t the only one who’s allowed a woman to convince a man to open a night club. Back in the day, Neil had a dream to open a jazz club and after a little persuasion by his co-worker, Carmen Mesta, he made that dream a reality.
While she and Neil were on the outs, Dru became jealous of Carmen and Neil’s closeness and threatened the other woman on numerous occasions. Dru had reached her breaking point when she witnessed Neil and Carmen in a kiss. She broke into Carmen’s room and was caught shredding the other woman’s clothes. Dru’s actions landed her in jail. She was later released with a whole lot of stipulations attached – including a restraining order that Dru ended up breaking.
Neil was looking for some normalcy in his life and family and gave Dru, who’d been fired from Newman, the job of decorating Indigo. When the opening night came everything seemed to be perfect until Carmen was found murdered in the alley behind Neil’s club. Neil’s whole family, including himself, Dru, Lily and Devon, were suspects. In the end, Devon was arrested then cleared when Jana Hawkes turned out to be the real killer.
