Restless Rant
Week of March 14 – 18:
There were only three episodes this week, and I have to say that I definitely had a favorite scene that stood out to me. Keep reading…
Whatever it takes!
The stand out scene of the week for me was Katherine lashing out at her son, Tucker, after learning about his role in the lawsuit against Victor. It was very powerful, and a reminder of how lucky we are that Katherine Chancellor is still taking names and kicking butt. I feel invested in the Tucker/Katherine relationship and hope they someday grow closer again – this means I’ll relish the story for the long haul. Kudos.
Knee-jerk wedding.
I’m not a huge fan of Victor’s knee-jerk reaction to his life circumstances in marrying Diane, nor do I like wishy-washy Diane going along with it while dreaming about sex with Nick. However, it’s vintage Victor, and there are bound to be some great scenes with Nikki and Diane, and Nick and Victor as the conflicts continue.
Nikki the shaky lady.
I love how Nikki trembles and struggles within herself before she falls off the wagon – it doesn’t get old. As for Deacon, it will be interesting to see if he’ll persevere in trying to make Nikki believe him, or if he’ll fade into the woodwork for now. I hope he sticks around. Dash of romance.
Lauren and Michael, and Billy and Vikki both had tiffs this week and then made up romantically. I noticed and appreciated this, simply because the show is sometimes lacking in ‘love in the afternoon’. That said, I was confused about Vikki, a grown woman, carrying a stuffed dog around town. Okay.
Chloe's woes.
I like seeing Chloe get screen time that doesn't involve the awkward relationship with Kevin, and enjoyed her scenes this week when she was around Chance, who she still has chemistry with, and Billy - the pair of them are very compelling to watch whether they're on the same page or arguing.
Damsel causes us distress.
Whether we're seeing Heather depicted as an irresistible sexpot, or a damsel in distress, it doesn't work. I have no idea why she's been kidnapped by a bookie in relation to the trial, but I hope Chance goes right ahead and testifies.
Jana's search.
Though Jana still creeps me out in her new stalkery persona, I'm intrigued about where the baby storyline is going to go even more with the latest developments. Keep it up!
Sharon works alone.
After having the same old argument with Nick, Sharon fails to convince Paul to help her bring back Adam, so she gets a passport in a baby's name to fly to Thailand? Why would she think that would work? In any case, I got a giggle out of Phyllis following her, since I can't get enough of this pair. As for Adam, it will be interesting to see what, if anything, he gets out of Koa.
