Sounds like Mishael Morgan won’t be done playing doctor for a while. The Young & Restless alum is going to continue to recur on Chicago Med, where she scrubs in as Petra Dupre, she tells TV Insider. “[My character] is not going away anytime soon. [She] is getting comfortable at Chicago Med and is making new friends.”

Which is not to say that the Daytime Emmy winner has forgotten her old ones in Genoa City. In fact, when she left her role of Amanda — unlike when she left her role of twin sister Hilary — “I didn’t feel undervalued,” she says. The powers that be behind the scenes “told me they wanted me to stay this time.

“They made it clear,” she adds, “that Amanda can go off, but she’s not dying. They said, ‘We’re not going to kill you twice.’”

That’s extremely good news as far as we’re concerned, especially because Amanda’s exit only left us eager to see more, more, more of the fiery attorney. In breaking up with an unfaithful Devon, she “didn’t give away all her power,” her portrayer notes. “She was in shock. Angry, for sure. But she was able to articulate herself so well.

“It really showcased how you should respond to these situations,” she adds. “Even though this was happening to her, she’s a strong bitch… Nobody is going to take her power.”
