Bold & Beautiful’s Sean Kanan Says He’s Game for a Young & Restless Return — ‘On One Condition’

It’s not at all unusual for characters to travel back and forth between Genoa City and Los Angeles, home to sister soaps The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Heck, Sheila Carter “dying” in Wisconsin only to resurface in the offices of California-based Forrester Creations will forever remain one of the most shocking storylines to hit daytime. So the moment that Diane Jenkins returned from the dead and started telling anyone who’d listen that Deacon Sharpe had helped her pull the wool over everyone’s eyes, we wondered if perhaps Hope’s dad might find himself taking a trip in the not-too-distant future.
“It’s interesting, isn’t it?” says Deacon’s portrayer, Sean Kanan, of his alter ego’s name being on the lips of so many Young & Restless characters. “I’d almost forgotten that piece of his past until people told me that it had been brought up.”

As you can see, there was no love lost between former spouses Deacon and Nikki!

Might a crossover be in the works? “I think it would be fun,” he admits. “And I’m totally open to it. I have nothing but good, fond memories of my time on Young & Restless. I adored working with Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) and Eric Braeden (Victor), and I had a great time over there. So yeah, it would be great to do another stint over there.”
That said, the actor is very, very happy where he is right now. “Bold & Beautiful to me is home. I’ve been on four soaps in my career, and this has always been far and away the best experience I’ve ever had. I love everyone here, from the people behind the scenes to my fellow actors. So would I ever cross over to Young & Restless for a couple of episodes? Yeah, that’d be a blast. But it would be on one condition… that I could hightail it back to Bold & Beautiful.”
