After a few weeks of being gone and a temporary recast thrown into the mix, Donny Boaz is returning to The Young and the Restless as Chance Chancellor. The actor took to Instagram to announce his return date, accompanied by a screenshot from the studio and shared his excitement to be back, “This is how happy I feel to be back at work.” He went on to reveal that he would be back on screen in his Genoa City character starting on Friday, December 18 then said, “Spoiler Alert: I think Melissa Ordway and I had one of the best, most magical scenes we’ve ever shot today. She is sooo good and sooo talented. I feel lucky to get front row seats to watch her work.”

Last month news broke that Boaz had to step away from the CBS soap opera for a bit after testing positive. The husband of his co-star Melissa Ordway, Justin Gaston, quickly stepped in to play Chance and viewers were treated to an extra special soap wedding, considering the current social distancing protocols, and were able to actually watch as Chance and Abby came together as one and sealed their nuptials with a kiss.

In any case, we’re happy that it all worked out and can’t wait to see Boaz on our screens again. In the meantime, he’s taken to social media to express his thanks to Ordway and Gaston — and to reveal what “fans have no idea” about regarding his recast. (You can find out what that is via this article.)
