Marla Adams Exits The Young and the Restless as Dina Mergeron
Marla Adams will be exiting The Young and the Restless as Dina Mergeron, as reported by Soap Opera Digest. Warning… Young & Restless spoiler: For a few years now, her character has suffered from Alzheimer’s and the emotional storyline surrounding the Abbott family will be coming to an end when Dina passes away from the disease during the week of October 12. Adams originated the role in 1984 and appeared in other daytime roles on the soap operas Days of Our Lives as Claire McIntyre, The Bold and the Beautiful as Beth Logan, Generations as Helen Mullin, Capitol as Myrna Clegg and General Hospital as Gloria. If there is any silver lining to Dina’s imminent demise — and you’d really have to squint to see it — it’s that before she passes, she seems to have inspired son Jack to at last find love again. Naturally, Soaps.com had a few ideas about the perfect woman for him — including one who (ruh-roh) currently is married to someone else. You can read about how Dina’s passing might affect the rest of her family here — but again, with Kleenex at the ready.
