Daniel Goddard Reveals Y&R Exit Date As Cane Ashby With Message to Fans

Updated November 26: Daniel Goddard took to social media to announce that his last day as Cane Ashby on Young and the Restless is today, November 26. However, due to the preempts the previous week, Cane will actually last air on Wednesday November 27. Soaps.com readers can view Goddard’s message to fans below, which began with, “My dearest friends, I just wanted to let you know that on today’s episode of young and the restless Cane’s journey finally comes to an end. I wanted to tell you for a while that today is my last air date but I really just didn’t know how…”
On October 22, we reported that after months of speculation, following a cryptic message posted by Daniel Goddard back in April, the actor has confirmed was let go from Young and the Restless as Cane Ashby and stated, “It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that I will no longer be part of the cast of the Young and the Restless. I am as shocked and gutted as you are… I almost didn’t post but I felt that the most loyal & loving fans an actor could wish for deserved to know and watch the last story arc knowing the rich meaning behind it. I am forever grateful for the 13 years I have been a part of the Y&R family… but sadly it seems that without Neil and Lily there just is no Cane.” Though his last air date with Christel Khalil (Lily) will be Friday October 25, Soaps.com will updated fans when Goddard’s last date will be.
Back on April 12, we reported Daniel Goddard, who has played Cane Ashby on Young and the Restless since 2007, took to Twitter today, using the hashtag #yr, and stated, “Life has been so good to me, but sometimes… you just have to turn the page and move on… #yr.” Though it hasn’t been confirmed, could the actor’s tweet mean he’s leaving his daytime role? On Tuesday April 9, we reported that Daniel Goddard sold his Calabasas home… Soaps.com reached out to Goddard and will report back when we receive confirmation.
