Although born in India, Abhi Sinha grew up mainly in Pittsburgh, where he attended Shadyside Academy, played hockey, and became an accomplished saxophonist. After moving to the west coast, Sinha began appearing in school productions at the Webb School, prior to attending USC, where he completed his Freshman year before leaving to pursue acting.

Sinha's first acting credit was "The Bernie Mac Show," after which he appeared in numerous television series such as "How I Met Your Mother," "Ghost Whisperer," "CSI: Miami," and "Bones," before landing the longer term roles of Danny Gupta in "Chasing Life" and Ravi Shapur on "The Young and the Restless."
