The Bold and the Beautiful carried on in the same vein, with another person learning the baby secret. In the last Deconstructing B&B, the baby storyline became more absurd and this week it escalated. Thoughts:

Still ridiculous

Hope and Liam’s marriage wouldn’t meet the criteria for an annulment in real life (Hope can have children despite the petition for physical incapacity), but it’s as easy as drawing up papers and signing them because…Bold and Beautiful. Yep, it’s a different world when it comes to ending marriages on this soap…they’re so interchangeable and the characters flip-flop so often that no one has time to deal with a lengthy divorce process. Relationships on here are like musical chairs as Brooke would say! Anyway, after having a ‘celebration’ of their union, the annulment process went forward for Hope and Liam with Thomas running interference on anyone who would dare try and hold things up. So, he’s gone completely insane it seems, or at least bunny-boiler level obsessed, which is irritating because I actually quite liked the previous version of Thomas that fell in love with Sally. I don’t know what to do with any of this except wait it out.

Apoplectic

There were some really solid scenes featuring Xander’s horror and outrage at the appalling secret he’d learned Flo and Zoe were keeping. However, as expected, he spent the entire week railing at them to come clean as though it never occurred to him that he could tell Hope and Liam himself. Oh, the frustration. Given how intent he seemed on having the truth come out, one could only assume something drastic would have to happen to keep him quiet – getting run off by Thomas seemed a cop out. I expect Thomas will find justification for keeping this to himself as well, now that Flo’s confessed.
