Deconstructing B&B: Viewers takes sides on Brill and Batie as the truth comes out

B&B Breakdown for July 4 - 8:

Don Diamont, Scott Clifton "The Bold and the Beautiful" Set CBS Television City Los Angeles, Ca. 05/20/16 © Howard Wise/jpistudios.com 310-657-9661 Episode # 7367 U.S.Airdate 07/04/16

This week on “B&B” there was a sprinkling of Quinn and Eric, and the Wyatt/Steffy/Liam triangle, but the show mainly revolved around Katie, Bill, and Brooke, as the (mostly) emotional affair finally came to light. Thoughts:

Unworthy.
As anticipated in the previous Deconstructing B&B, Liam confronting his father over his ‘do what I say, not what I do’ orders to respect Wyatt’s marriage was pretty satisfying. I kind of hope Liam doesn’t let it go for a while since Bill went so far as to threaten to disown him.

Paranoid freak.
Katie’s endless insecurities can certainly be annoying, but the fact is that in this case they were justified so hearing her beat herself up over her inability to control her thoughts was kind of sad. With that said, Bill and Brooke may never have taken up together again had Katie’s insecure behavior not turned her husband off to some extent…it’s like one of those ‘which came first the chicken or the egg?’ conversations.

His history.
Eric and Quinn had sex again, which was followed by another round of Eric saying it could never happen again. Yeah, right.

I’m sorry.
Brooke went to Liam’s without Bill to lean on and faced up to a spiraling Katie, who pleaded with her sister to assure her nothing was going on between her and Bill. Brooke, with her signature tear on her cheek, couldn’t do that and ‘fessed up with two words: “I’m sorry.” While we could go on about this triangle being done before, there is simply no denying the appeal of the powerhouse acting that viewers were treated to in these scenes. Fans took sides in the aftermath of the truth coming out:

The end result, of course, was Katie dramatically lashing out at Brooke, and ultimately saying ‘goodbye’ to her sister. She clearly is also planning to follow through on her plan to take Will away from Bill and likely go after his company. However, Katie has had issues with alcohol and that could work against her. Regardless, something dramatic will most certainly go down!

Shell-shocked.
Steffy finally pulled out that shell – the minute Liam gave it to her we knew it would lead to endless scenes of her gazing at it longingly whenever her unresolved feelings come to the surface. Kudos to Thomas for wanting to be sure his sister isn’t settling for Wyatt and encouraging her to be honest about her feelings for Liam. Wyatt knew he walked in on a conversation about Liam and continued to spout his ‘moving forward’ mantra. Bleh. Later, while Wyatt checked in on Quinn, Liam paid Steffy a visit and planted a kiss on her. Loved it!
