Bold and the Beautiful actress filming a terrifying true story inspired thriller.

Soaps.com recently reported that Katrina Bowden was temporarily exiting Bold and Beautiful. However, she and her character of Flo Fulton will return. Bowden is in Australia for six and a half weeks to film the movie Great White off the coast of Brisbane. The thriller is based on the true events of seaplane operators and couple Kaz Fellows (Bowden) and Charlie Brody (Aaron Jakubenko, Neighbours) whose plane is chartered by Joji Minase (Tim Kano, Neighbours), his wife Michelle (Kimie Tsukakoshi, The Family Law) and cook Benny (Te Kohe Tuhaka, Find Me a Maori Bride). What was supposed to be a fun-filled flight to the beautiful Hell’s Reef turns into a nightmare for them when the seaplane is destroyed in a freak accident and they are trapped on a raft, one hundred miles from shore. Their only chance for survival is to get to the beach, but two Great White sharks lurk beneath the surface and the odds are not in their favor. The film also stars Jason Wilder (THUGGERY) as Luke and Tatjana Marjanovic (Syd2030) as Tracy. The film is set to be released in Australia and a dozen international territories in 2021.

Bowden, who got her acting break in 2006 playing the two-day role of Britney on One Life to Live, is excited to be filming the movie. In a quote from the actress reported by Deadline she said, “Ever since watching Jaws as a kid I realized the effect a shark film can have on a movie audience. The fear you feel in the cinema and again venturing into the water is real. Great White draws on that fear and together with great performances, delivers a real and relatable experience, hopefully to a whole new generation of cinema-goers.”

The film’s script was written by Michael Boughen and is being directed by Martin Wilson. It’s produced by Thrills & Spills and Piccadilly Pictures, with Michael Robertson and Neal Kingston.
