Bold and Beautiful alum plays evil street character.
Actor and musician Jacob Young, who played Rick Forrester on Bold and the Beautiful, will be seen in a very different role in the upcoming movie, Angel. Soaps.com shared a preview of the film that Young posted on his Instagram account to let followers know the movie would be available as of December 6. In the clip, Young does an ominous-sounding voiceover and is seen as a very dark persona from the streets who refers to ‘his girls’. His character is Mr. Jones and is presumably the ‘evil’ that must be overcome by the film’s main character, Angel, who is played by Disney star Ricky Garcia (Best Friends Whenever), as he faces down demons and performs miracles in East L.A. in an attempt to save the local community. Garcia is also a recording artist, formerly of the band Forever In Your Mind, who more recently released the solo single, Lock It Up. The film is a departure from the type of work Young has done in daytime soap operas, with one actress, Sabryn Genet, who once played Tricia Dennison McNeil on Young and the Restless, commenting on the actor’s post to say, “This one is too dark for me.” Other cast appearing in Angel include Mia Hulen (Chicago Fire) as Mia, Elizabeth Ruiz (Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.) as Boom Boom, Erwin Raphael McManus (Waiting For the Miracle to Come) as Thomas, Apryl Jones (Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood) as Sugar Puss, Jessica Vanessa DeLeon (Inside Kim Kardashian’s Brain) as Pow Pow, and Olivia Jordan (Hot Tub Time Machine 2) as Robbie. Angel was written and directed by Jimmy Blondell (Liar’s Poker) and will be released on streaming platforms December 6.
Jacob Young also shared news of upcoming projects to be filmed on location in Park City, Utah, where he was spending time with casting director Paul Michael Ruddy, who cast numerous soap opera alums in Home Is Where the Killer Is, which is now available on Netflix.
