Jacqueline Wood Reveals Birth of First Child With Unique Name
Bold and Beautiful actress shares the happy news with castmates.
Updated March 8: Soaps.com is excited to announce the birth of Bold and the Beautiful’s Jacqueline MacInnes Wood’s (Steffy) first child, a baby boy. The actress and husband Ethan Ruspoli welcomed their son on Monday March 4. Little Rise Harlen Ruspoli weighed in at 7 pounds, 13 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long. Wood spoke of her baby’s birth to People, “We chose Rise because to us Rise means growth, the simplicity of moving forward.” Of their baby’s unique name, Wood’s stated, “We look to our son as an uplifting force toward positive change and a better world.”

On December 17 we reported A Dolce & Gabbana themed baby shower was held on Sunday December 16 for Jacqueline MacInnes Wood. Soaps.com can report that cast members, Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke), Scott Clifton (Liam), Annika Noelle (Hope), Jennifer Gareis (Donna), Ashley Jones (Bridget), Heather Tom (Katie), Darin Brooks (Wyatt) and his real-life wife, Kelly Kruger (Eva the publicist), were among the attendees, and took to Instagram, along with Wood, to share fun photos (see below) from the happy event.
On November 4, Soaps.com shared that Jacqueline MacInnes Wood revealed on Instagram that she’s having a boy. On November 2, Soaps.com reported that MacInnes Wood is teasing a gender reveal on Instagram, as the B&B actress posted a photo of herself wearing a pink dress along with the caption, “BOY or GIRL?!? What do YOU think!?! ???? #6monthspregnant #pregnancy #pregnant.” So went on to share a photo in a blue dress and teased, “In my belly.. striking a pose..Boy or Girl we soon shall knoooww!!! What do you think?!”
On October 18, Soaps.com was excited to share the news that B&B star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is expecting her first child with husband Ethan Ruspoli. Wood eloped with Ruspoli this summer and is five and a half months pregnant, which means her due date is in February 2019.
Entertainment Tonight was on set at Bold and Beautiful as Wood made her announcement to unsuspecting castmates. During a scene in which Wood’s character, Steffy Forrester, was walking a runway in a revealing selection from Forrester Creations’ Intimates line, Wood shouted out, “I just wanna let you all know: your girl is pregnant! I am pregnant!” Courtney Hope, who plays Sally Spectra, Steffy’s designer, commented after the fact, “I’m so surprised. I had no idea. And it’s super weird because I work with her all the time.” Her onscreen grandfather, John McCook (Eric Forrester), tweeted, “A Joyous, Fearless, Wonderful Mom!! HUGE congrats to her!!”
B&B head honcho, Brad Bell was in the loop, however, and stated, “She told me about a month ago, and she told me in person [and] came up to my office. I’m thrilled. I’m a father of four kids myself, and she’s just fallen in love with her husband and now she’s falling in love again with a child. It’s just a wonderful, wonderful thing.” Following the big announcement, Wood was feeling the moment and said, “I am still shaking, my hands are shaking, my body is shaking, but it’s such a surreal, beautiful moment and I am happy to do it with people that I love.”

The actress, who doesn’t know the gender of her baby as of yet, looked forward to getting lots of parenting tips from B&B cast members who are already parents. Wood’s pregnancy will not be written into Steffy’s B&B storyline as the character had her first child, Kelly, not so long ago, so expect to see her behind large purses and desks as is typical for soap operas hiding a baby belly.
