Bold and Beautiful star shares family news. readers may be interested to hear that Bold and Beautiful star John McCook just got a hip replacement. The actor took to his Twitter page to share the news, and also reported his daughter, Molly McCook, landed a new role in the same tweet. He said, “Molly and I both got new parts today: Last Man Standing for her , a hip replacement for me!!” His wife, Laurette Spang, shared a photo of McCook being wheeled into the surgery with the caption, “I couldn’t be prouder of my guy as he entertained nurses on his way to surgery for hip replacement. Home today. He’s my warrior! I love you John McCook!!!” wishes McCook a speedy recovery from his surgery, which typically takes four to six weeks even after the newer surgical technique that has patients going home later the same day with a home-based therapy routine to follow.

McCook’s daughter, Molly, also took to Twitter to share her excitement about landing a role on Last Man Standing, and stated, “I am speechless and overwhelmed. So excited for this opportunity. Hope I do y’all proud.”

Last Man Standing, a sitcom surrounding a married father of three trying to maintain his manliness in a world increasingly dominated by women, was canceled on ABC after six seasons a year ago, and is now being picked up by FOX. McCook has been recast in the role of Mandy Baxter, the title character’s daughter, who was last played by Molly Ephraim. Mandy’s parents, Mike and Vanessa Baxter, are played by series stars Tim Allen (Home Improvement, Toy Story) and Nancy Travis (Becker, So I Married an Axe Murderer). The role of Boyd, the Baxter’s grandson, has also been recast with Jet Jurgensmeyer (Will and Grace).

Molly McCook, who appeared as Margot on B&B in 2010, is engaged to actor John Krause (His Wives and Daughters), and the family recently visited Sacramento to see him perform in the onstage production of Newsies. John McCook tweeted, “Me, Rett, and Molly in Sacramento to see my future son-in-law, John Krause, in Newsies Great Talent!!”
