An important film about addiction.

Updated January 3: Soaps.com has learned that fans will have the chance to watch Heather Tom’s short film “Serenity” next week. The actress posted on Instagram, “Happy new year everyone!!! My film SERENITY will be premiering on a brand new platform called IndieVue next Monday, January 8th @ 6PM Pacific/9PM Eastern. I will be doing a real-time, on-screen commentary of the film right after it airs, along with a replay.”

Fans will need to register for free at IndieVue to watch the film. Tom went on to say, “I’m really proud of this film. It deals with the devastating effects of opioid addiction on a family- a subject that too many of us have a connection to. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences, so please join me.”

As reported on July 26, 2017, “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” Heather Tom was set to screen a new film she directed entitled, “Serenity.” The short film ‘of magical realism confronting America’s prescription opiate-to-heroin epidemic’ is set to debut at the L.A. Shorts International Film Festival on Saturday August 5 at the Laemmle NoHo 7 at 7:55 PM. The project stars actor Vince Nappo (“Reign,” “Red Widow”) as Dane, a man who recounts his tale of addiction, recovery, family and regret during a Narcotics Anonymous meeting that is anything but ordinary. The film, which also stars newcomer Blake Clendenin as AJ, is touted as the “B&B” actress’ directorial debut, however as soap fans know, Tom has directed episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful in the past.

While working on her new short film, Heather Tom, who has played Katie Logan since 2007, has continued to feature on the popular CBS soap in front-burner storylines that included pulling a gun on her neighbor and nemesis, Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer), after snapping over the loss of her job. Luckily, her character quickly recovered, redeemed herself by saving Quinn from being shot by her drunken ex, Deacon (Sean Kanan), and has moved on to greener pastures. In Katie’s new capacity as a marketing executive at Forrester Creations, Tom traveled to Monte Carlo for the B&B fashion show location shoot, where some fans are hoping to see her recent flirtation with former stepson, Wyatt (Darin Brooks) develop into something beyond a working relationship.

Tom also has two other projects in post-production, “The Billionaire,” and “Animal Among Us.” The excited actress promoted “Serenity” on social media, along with another short entitled, “Bigfoot’s Love Slave,” for which screening date and time have yet to be announced:

Thank you good day Chicago and @kristenicolefox for promoting my film @theserenityfilm !!!
