B&B Breakdown Weekly Blog
Will she or won't she? (CBS)
“The Bold and the Beautiful” for the Week of April 20 – 24:
If you took a drink every time someone mentioned ‘the secret’ or Rick talked about ‘honesty and integrity’, you would have had a tipsy week watching “B&B!” Thoughts:
Nothing seems impossible.
Deacon and Quinn’s wedding actually ended up being a real ‘feelgood’ affair once Brooke left. For some, it was refreshing seeing Brooke and Hope not get their own way despite pulling out all the stops. As mentioned in last week’s B&B Breakdown, I think if Brooke had wanted to, she could have seduced Deacon and ended his relationship with Quinn, but she didn’t seem to be willing to take it that far. Anyway, Wyatt gave his blessing and Carter, despite initially not wanting to officiate, stepped up and made it wonderful for Quinn and Deacon.
It’s good to be king.
Nicole had a front row seat to learn more about Liam and his issues with Rick. The tense exchange between Liam and Maya was pretty entertaining to watch. Liam’s no Dollar Bill, but he is getting good at being snarky. Later, Liam turned up at the Forrester mansion with Ivy and sparred briefly with Rick, and from there, Liam and Ivy went back to Rick’s office to snoop. It’s kind of funny how they all think Rick is the one with the secret when it’s actually Maya.
While Ivy and Liam did their sleuthing at Forrester Creations, Wyatt took Nicole home. She wanted to party and he obliged, no doubt hoping the alcoholic beverages would get Nicole to let down her guard and spill ‘the secret’. Wyatt may be charming, but he’s far from subtle. He couldn’t have been more obvious about the fact that he knows she’s keeping a secret and wants her to tell him. Yeesh. Also not working in this scenario – she is supposed to be a twentysomething, but comes off like a sixteen year old, which makes their interaction a bit uncomfortable.
She cooks for you?
It was good they had someone else witness the way Rick is treating Aly, which at this point is just gross and not at all as amusing as he seems to think.
Proud of you.
It's anyone's guess what Rick has done that has led to such great success at Forrester as all he seems to do is mack on Maya, but nonetheless, the quarterly results were in and Eric and Brooke were very proud of their son. Eric even gave him a watch. The whole scenario, with no one else being given credit for the company's success, and knowing how Rick is truly treating people, makes one long for the day when Eric will get a reality check about Rick. That said, Rick seemed genuinely moved by winning Eric's approval. Too bad he doesn't feel any guilt about not whole-hardheartedly earning it, and when he goes on about how much he wants to live a life of integrity it doesn't seem to apply to him! His speeches about honesty are getting boring anyway, it's time for this secret to come out.
While it was fun to see Nicole bait Maya by asking for some items from the Brooke's Bedroom line, the whole 'I got me a Rick' bit was a turn-off. Nicole gives good attitude and sometimes seems sweet, but the side of her that's an immature gold-digger is unappealing.
The phone call.
Caroline had a squeal-y phone call with her cousin Liam, who wanted to know why she was still away if things were hot and heavy with her and Ridge. Her reply, that he would know soon enough, caused a firestorm of speculation that Caroline might return pregnant! Oh can you imagine Brooke's reaction? And Steffy's? And Bill's? And Rick's? Oh, and then Rick will learn he can't have children with Maya... Wow. Vote in Soaps.com's B&B Poll: Should Caroline be pregnant?
Magic carpet riding.
Liam is confident that Wyatt will finesse 'the secret' out of Nicole, and Bill is concerned that being vulnerable to her will dull his edge. I think they're both right and predict that Nicole may very well confide in Wyatt about Maya being transgender, but it isn't the type of secret that Wyatt is anticipating and he most likely won't want to use it.
