Lesli Kay Talks to Soaps.com About the 2009 Soap Cruise!
Of course she’s also looking forward to meeting the fans as well, as even though she was sick the last time she cruised, she met a lot of great people. “I went on the As the World Turns cruise and it was just my family and Michael Park’s (Jack, ATWT) family. It was a much smaller deal, but it was on a cruise from New York to Bermuda, and very bad weather I might add (laughs), but we had a blast! We had such a good time. We played bingo with them and we made some really good friends,” she recalled. “Some of those fans became very good friends of ours and the Parks. It was a very good experience even though I was seasick.”
Aside from the fans and her fellow soap stars, Lesli will also have her family with her as she is bringing her two kids and her mother. Her husband, Keith Coulouris (ex-David/Reid, ATWT), however is still on the fence about whether or not he’ll be joining them.
“The future remains to be seen. We’ll see. It’s an interesting thing because Keith used to be on a soap, on two soaps, and he’s not getting paid to go as an actor so he feels odd going,” Lesli explained. “He’s just afraid I’ll be so busy the while time. It’s not like we’re going to be able to enjoy each other. It’s more of a work thing, for me to be with the fans and meet the fans and so probably he’ll stay home and get some work done.”
That could all change though if a certain other cruise attendee has anything to say about it. “I have to say, if my husband goes, it’s because of Christian LeBlanc (Michael, Y&R). They have a tight friendship. Christian is infectious with his humor and he’s such a fun guy. I think he’s the common link between everybody. He’s friends with everybody.”
Armed with her seasickness precautions, Lesli will brave going on a cruise once again. Sharing a funny story, Lesli told me that after her ATWT cruise experience, she was quoted as saying she would never go on a cruise again. After that article came out, she got hate mail for supposedly bashing cruises! Lesli wants to make sure that person knows she is sailing again in the hopes that it will be a better experience.
To ensure that it is, Lesli stated, “I’m taking Bromine. I have the wristbands and the headbands and the things behind the ears. I’m having it all.”
Soaps.com hopes all of Lesli's precautions work and can't wait to meet up with her on the 2009 Soap Cruise!

I recently spoke with Lesli Kay (Felicia, B&B) who will be one of the many celebrities attending the 2009 Soap Cruise. Although she’s looking forward to the event, she’s a little leery considering her last experience on the open water left her a bit seasick.
“The last time I went on a cruise and the only time I’ve been on a cruise was when I was on As the World Turns and I vowed I would never go again because I puked the entire time,” she laughed.
While she doesn’t know exactly what the itinerary is or even where they are going (I let her know they will be traveling to the Keys and Cozumel) Lesli is eager to meet up with the other soap actors, most of whom she’s already familiar with.
“I’m looking forward to hanging out with Winsor (Harmon; Thorne, B&B) and actually a lot of my friends. I know pretty much everybody that’s going. I know Austin (Peck; Brad, ATWT) and Don Diamont (Brad, The Young and the Restless) very well and it should be a lot of fun,” she mused.
Since they are such good friends, Winsor had a little something to do with Lesli going on the cruise this year, as she explained, “Winsor’s been talking to Mike (Gold, the cruise organizer) about me for I don’t know how long. I hope I live up to the expectations that Winsor has held of me (laughs), because he talks me up as a very fun person and I hope that Mike’s happy.”
