If you’ve been thinking that it’s been a minute — a long minute — since last The Bold and the Beautiful featured Wyatt or Flo, it’s totally understandable. They’ve been as scarce as Brooke’s moments of self-awareness.
But does their disappearing act mean that their portrayers have quietly been fazed out of The Young and the Restless’ sister soap? Not in the slightest, according to executive producer/headwriter Bradley Bell.
Darin Brooks and Katrina Bowden are “still very much a part of the makeup of the show,” he tells Soap Opera Digest, adding Wyatt and Flo will be woven into storylines that will air later this year. He’s only taken a step back from the characters because the actors have been so busy.
Brooks not only stars in the Hulu/Peacock animated series The Croods: Family Tree, he’s been cast as Grey’s Anatomy vet Sarah Drew’s boyfriend in Apple TV+’s Amber Brown. As for Bowden, she’s been working on Dead Wrong, an indie movie in which she plays the wife of a guy who is [insert title here] about his master plan to get rich quick.
Perhaps when the co-stars return to the frontburner, their alter egos will make good on their engagement and tie the knot in the Forrester living room (where, as we know, all weddings must take place). Can you imagine the tension, what with Carter officiating in the home of his ex-lover, the groom’s mother, while the bride’s aunt, the groom’s old flame, makes googily eyes at Carter, and the groom’s best man tries to forget that his future sister-in-law once let him and his wife think their baby was dead for a year.
