Sometimes it’s good to be bad.
Our soaps are all about the root-fors, right? The virtuous characters and deeply-devoted couples that we hope against hope will live happily ever after. But where would they be without… that’s right… the obstacles in their path. In other words, the villains.
Short answer: nowhere.

If it weren’t for the bad guys, there would be nothing standing in the way of the good guys fast-tracking themselves to the finish line and thereby exiling themselves to storyline Siberia. So today, we’re giving credit — or would that be gold-plated demerits? — where it’s due, to the rotten eggs who make the course of true love such a bumpy one.
Included in our Top 10 of the bottom scrapers are a particularly wicked General Hospital witch who curses in ways that would make even seasoned sailors blanch, an antagonist from The Young and the Restless who never met a line that he wouldn’t cross, a Bold & Beautiful puppet master who gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “Mamma mia!” and a Days of Our Lives hellraiser who’s truly to die for.
Repeatedly, we might add.
