Steamy drama full of political intrigue should heat things up nicely.

Here’s some totally scandalous news… Hit series Scandal is heading to Hulu – all seven seasons. Soaps.com can confirm that the drama, starring Kerry Washington, which aired on ABC from 2012 – 2018, is set to steam up your TV screens in reruns starting May 20. Previously, it had been featured on Netflix.

Created by Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice), Scandal introduced us to Olivia Pope (Washington) as a take-no-prisoners former White House Communications Director who starts a crisis management firm… and who also has an ongoing, definitely-not-above-board relationship with none other than President of the United States Fitz Grant (Tony Goldwyn). Over seven seasons, Washington and her associates handled unimaginable crises that affected the country’s elite, and along the way explored political culture, gender disparities, sexual politics and race in America.

“I’ve learned a lot from Olivia through the years,” Washington stated in an interview with Good Morning America in 2018. “She’s much more courageous than I think I am. She’s very bold and confident and she feels like there’s always a solution that you should never give up and I feel like I’ve learned some of that from her. Sometimes as a parent I think, you know, I’ll handle this like Olivia Pope. I can fix any situation. I don’t get overwhelmed because she’s given me that gift.”

Washington tweeted a joyous message on Thursday, noting, “I loooooved all the gorgeous state dinner scenes. It was always so fun to get glammed up & spend hours on set partying our way through scenes!” She included a GIF of Olivia sharing a dance with the president, and tagged co-star Bellamy Young (who played First Lady Mellie Grant, and also appeared in Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans), asking, “Favorite scene?”

“I personally loved getting to be #SmellieMellie,” Young wrote back in her own tweet, a reference to how her character could be super-loose and casual, and once got fried chicken crumbs in her hair. This was just the beginning of a Tweet chain, in which other actors like George Newbern and Darby Stanchfield (General Hospital, Amelia Joffe) tagged one another to share fun, favorite moments.

Scandal, which earned one Golden Globe and one Emmy nomination during its run, joins Hulu’s other archive of hit dramas, like This Is Us and ER, plus originals like Little Fires Everywhere, Killing Eve and The Handmaid’s Tale.

Be sure to visit Hulu to relive or start following the incredible story of Olivia Pope all over again on May 20!
