The Young and the Restless

As CBS celebrated the legacy of Katherine Chancellor last week with some episodes from the character’s history, Billy Miller (ex-Billy) reflected on how rewarding working with Jeanne Cooper was. We take more glances back at Genoa City’s storied past, reminding you of everything you need to know about Katherine’s intervention, Daniel learning that he was not Danny’s biological son, and Sharon’s attempted rape. If you’re at loose ends, we have recommendations for shows to binge-watch if you are a fan of Justin Hartley (ex-Adam) and five ways to see more of Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm). Staff picks

As an addition to all the recommendations we put out this week, Soaps.com’s writers have offered their personal recommendations for the shows we discussed.

Christine Fix suggested Supernatural, Virgin River, and also loved Mistresses and Nancy Drew.

Amy Mistretta put her seal of approval on the Dynasty reboot, saying that it is a mixture of the original Dynasty, filled with scandal, lies, etc, with a format – and fun energy – likened to Melrose Place, Pacific Palisades or Models Inc.

Candace Young has been enjoying Virgin River, Outlander, and Hart of Dixie, and suggests This Is Us and Mistresses if you need a Justin Hartley fix.

Lori Wilson recommends Mistresses and the first seasons of Downton Abbey and Revenge.

Dustin Cushman gave his kudos to Good Witch and Nancy Drew. He’s still a big fan of Soap and wishes there was a resolution to the firing squad finale.

Jennifer Kelly highly recommends Dynasty as well.

Kristyn Burtt cast her votes for Hart of Dixie and Mistresses. She also gave a nod to Dawson’s Creek because there’s nothing better than a love triangle with Joey-Dawson-Pacey.
