Days of our Lives
Former Stefan Brandon Barash returned to Days of our Lives as a new character while Kate Mansi is exiting Days as Abigail DiMera. She used to play Abigail DiMera too, now you can see Marci Miller in Nova Vita, a series about the sinister lives of some cryptocurrency billionaires. Read our speculation on what could be ahead for Kristen since she stabbed Victor before watching the newest spoiler video for what will be coming up in Salem this week. In the Days of our Lives news room, we also have four must-see shows for fans of Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles (ex-Eric) as well as seven suggestions of campy shows you might want to watch if you haven’t already. Plus, Christine is learning to love hating Orpheus, wonders who is drugging Abby, thought that Rafe’s criticism of Gabi was a surprise, and wonders who Jake really is in her Days of our Lives column.
Risa Dorken (Amy) took to Instagram with an account of her recent struggles with her mental health. After reading up on that, you can watch the third installment of Nancy Lee Grahn’s (Alexis) YouTube show. This time around, she interviewed the legendary Anthony Geary (Luke) to talk about Santa Barbara and his character’s controversial love story with Laura. Grahn also hosted a live fundraiser for Meals on Wheels and several of her co-stars dropped by to wish her a happy birthday. Take a special video behind-the-scenes tour of the new Corinthos living room and then learn when Sydney Mikayla’s (Trina) DreamWorks series will have its second season premiere. The Hallmark Channel has renewed its longest-running series When Calls the Heart for an eighth season. The show stars Jack Wagner (Frisco) and we count down nine things to know about the soap opera alum. Check out our list of five soapy medical dramas you might enjoy before getting a sneak peek at the upcoming action in Port Charles with the latest spoiler video in our General Hospital news room. And Dustin doesn’t know how Willow and Michael can be so stupid, has been cringing watching Nelle, had a laugh at Kristina’s reaction to Molly cheating, and enjoyed Valentin’s complex character in the new General Hospital column.
The Young and the Restless
As CBS celebrated the legacy of Katherine Chancellor last week with some episodes from the character’s history, Billy Miller (ex-Billy) reflected on how rewarding working with Jeanne Cooper was. We take more glances back at Genoa City’s storied past, reminding you of everything you need to know about Katherine’s intervention, Daniel learning that he was not Danny’s biological son, and Sharon’s attempted rape. We also examine what makes Miguel Rodriguez so great to have around, and count down seven things to know about femme fatale Cassandra Rawlins. If you’re at loose ends, we have recommendations for shows to binge-watch if you are a fan of Justin Hartley (ex-Adam) and five ways to see more of Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm). In lieu of new real stories, we bring you a little bit of fan fiction about Chelsea keeping a secret from Adam. For something to cheer you up, watch the cast performing the Young and Restless theme song with Eileen Davidson (Ashley) on guitar and some singing dogs in our The Young and the Restless news room. And you can now see Eric Braden (Victor) in a cameo performance in his son Christian Gudegast’s film Den of Thieves on Netflix.

As an addition to all the recommendations we put out this week, Soaps.com’s writers have offered their personal recommendations for the shows we discussed.
Christine Fix suggested Supernatural, Virgin River, and also loved Mistresses and Nancy Drew.
Amy Mistretta put her seal of approval on the Dynasty reboot, saying that it is a mixture of the original Dynasty, filled with scandal, lies, etc, with a format – and fun energy – likened to Melrose Place, Pacific Palisades or Models Inc.
Candace Young has been enjoying Virgin River, Outlander, and Hart of Dixie, and suggests This Is Us and Mistresses if you need a Justin Hartley fix.
Lori Wilson recommends Mistresses and the first seasons of Downton Abbey and Revenge.
Dustin Cushman gave his kudos to Good Witch and Nancy Drew. He’s still a big fan of Soap and wishes there was a resolution to the firing squad finale.
Jennifer Kelly highly recommends Dynasty as well.
Kristyn Burtt cast her votes for Hart of Dixie and Mistresses. She also gave a nod to Dawson’s Creek because there’s nothing better than a love triangle with Joey-Dawson-Pacey.
