Soaps.com regrets to report Frank Grillo and Wendy Moniz have separated, and filed for divorce, per People. Their noted date of separation is February 21. The couple met while working together on Guiding Light where Grillo played Hart Jessup from 1997 until 1999 and Moniz played Dinah Marler from 1995 – 1999. They married October 28, 2000 and had two children together. Moniz is reportedly asking for joint legal and physical custody of their sons.
On Guiding Light, Hart Jessup was Roger Thorpe’s (Michael Zaslow) son who fell in love with Dinah Marler, daughter of Ross Marler (Jerry verDorn) and Vanessa Chamberlain (Maeve Kinkead). Hart eventually left her for Cassie Layne (Laura Wright, Carly Corinthos, General Hospital), but Dinah manipulated him into marrying her with news of a pregnancy and a faked illness. When Hart finally decided to return to the woman he truly loved, Dinah tried to shoot Cassie but he jumped in front of the bullet. Hart went into cardiac arrest and died after suffering brain damage when his blood supply was cut off for too long a period of time during surgery.
