Former ATWT star joins an established series while Passions alum writes her own show.

Soaps.com’s latest soap opera alums installment has actors writing a TV series pilot, starring in an indie film and joining a hit series on CBS. Read the following to keep up with former actors from As the World Turns, Days of our Lives and Passions.

Erin Cardillo co-writes The Beach pilot

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Erin Cardillo (Esme Vanderheusen, Passions) and her partner Richard Keith are writing and executive producing the pilot for The Beach, based on the young adult book Beach Lane written by Melissa de la Cruz. Penned for HBO Max, the drama is about three teens who work during the summer in the Hamptons, where they become involved with the wealthy families who visit for the season. The Beach will also be executive produced by Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries; The Originals) and Jenna Dewan (The Resident; Witches of East End; Young and Restless, Donna). Cardillo has previously written for the TV series Life Sentence, Fuller House and Significant Mother. In an Instagram post sharing the news, Cardillo said, “Dear Santa, I love this show and really hope it gets picked up and runs forever, so we can all live in the Hamptons.”

Victor Turpin in Greenlight

Victor Turpin (cartel henchman Luca, Days of our Lives) posted on Instagram about his new indie horror film Greenlight. Per his post, the movie, about a director forced to film a real-life murder, will be available February 25, 2020 on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, DirecTV and more platforms. The film co-stars Danielle Bisutti (CSI: Miami; Dwight in Shining Armor), Chris Browning (Bosch; As the World Turns, David Allen) and Shane Coffey (Pretty Little Liars, Perception). Turpin has also had recurring roles in the American TV shows Shades of Blue and See Dad Run, as well as the Spanish-language telenovela El Clone, a.k.a. The Clone.

Bailey Chase to S.W.A.T.

Deadline is reporting that As the World Turns alum, Bailey Chase (Chris Hughes), has joined the cast of the CBS procedural S.W.A.T, starring Shemar Moore (Malcolm Winters, The Young and the Restless). Chase will recur in the back half of season three as a former Army Ranger who is launching his own security firm and tries to convince series regular Deacon (Jay Harrington) to work for him. Chase previously starred in Queen of the South, Longmire, Damages and Saving Grace. S.W.A.T. returns January 8, 2020.
