Judi Evans’ Tragic Loss, Ripa & Consuelos Talk AMC, Kyle Lowder Series
TV shows, talk shows and a devastating loss.
Soaps.com has more news on soap opera alums appearing outside of daytime. Actors from All My Children, Bold and Beautiful, Days of our Lives and Guiding Light are starring in new TV series, joining established shows and reminiscing about their soap opera days. Unfortunately, there is also sad news to report as Days of our Lives’ Judi Evans mourns the death of her son.
Kyle Lowder in Down the K-Hole
Days of our Lives alum, Kyle Lowder (Rex Brady, Brady Black; Bold and Beautiful, Rick Forrester), stars in the TV pilot Down the K-Hole. The comedy is about an unhappy businessman named Rich Crawford (Rob E. Angelino, Baywatch; palace guard, General Hospital) living in Manhattan Beach, California who turns to unconventional therapy on his path to enlightenment and in dealing with his loveless marriage. Lowder plays Rich’s friend who turns him to the “dark side.” Lowder also recently posted a photo of himself with Eric Dane (Euphoria) on set shooting the drama The Ravine in New Orleans. The film stars Peter Facinelli (S.W.A.T.), Bryan Mann (Wu Assassins) and Teri Polo (Good Trouble; Kristin Larsen, Loving).
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos reminisce about AMC
Mark Consuelos (Mateo Santos, All My Children) joined his wife Kelly Ripa (Haley Santos, All My Children) on December 16 to co-host an episode of her talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan. During an opening segment, they reminisced about their time on the ABC soap opera and their grueling commute from New Jersey to the set, joking they’re not sure how they ever stayed married. As they recalled their early years working on All My Children, Consuelos laughed over how ancient they thought the older cast was, noting the couple is that age now. Ripa joked, “We talked to them like they were the crypt keeper!” Consuelos currently stars as Hiram Lodge on Riverdale.
Frank Grillo cast on Billions
Deadline reports Frank Grillo (Captain America; Hart Jessup, Guiding Light) has joined the fifth season of the Showtime series Billions. The former soap opera star will play modern artist Nico Tanner in the series about the battles between a U.S. Attorney and a hedge fund manager in New York City. The drama stars Paul Giamatti (John Adams), Damian Lewis (Homeland) and Maggie Siff (Sons of Anarchy) and will return in 2020.
