OLTL’s Sean Ringgold in Adam Sandler’s New Film ‘Uncut Gems’

Former daytime actor’s new big-screen film.
Sean Ringgold, who Soaps.com readers may recall played Shaun Evans on One Life to Live, has a part in the upcoming Adam Sandler crime thriller Uncut Gems. The film is set in the diamond district of New York City and follows Howard Ratner (Sandler), a jewelry store owner and dealer to the rich and famous. He also is a gambler, and unfortunately loses big while gambling away money that wasn’t his to begin with. He scrambles to find a way to pay his debts when his merchandise is taken from one of his top sellers and girlfriend. As things escalate, Howard finds his entire family is in danger due to his mistakes.

The film stars NBA player Kevin Garnett as himself, Idina Menzel (Frozen) as Dinah, Lakeith Stanfield (Atlanta) as Demany, Julia Fox (The Great American Mudwrestle) as Julia, Eric Bogosian (Succession) as Arno and pop star The Weeknd as himself. Ringgold plays a bodyguard in the film. Uncut Gems is directed by the Safdie Brothers and is being distributed by A24 productions. It made its debut at the Telluride Film Festival on August 30 and will release in theaters on December 13.
After One Life to Live, Ringold went on to star in as Sugar in Netflix’s Luke Cage and most recently as Junior Duncan in BET’s The Family Business. He also appears in the pilot episode of the new ABC series Emergence as a radiology aid, which aired September 24 at 10:00 PM.
