Soap opera actors celebrate National Dog Day

Daytime actors pay tribute to their fur babies on social media.

In honor of National Dog Day on August 26, soap opera stars from The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital and The Young and the Restless took to social media to show off their loyal companions. The holiday serves to celebrate all breeds and to encourage adoption. Soaps.com loves seeing photos of all the beautiful canines the daytime actors call family, which we’ve compiled below.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Katrina Bowden (Flo Fulton) posted a photo of her and her pups standing by the side of the road, with the caption, “Happy #nationaldogday to my Black and White Bozo Brigade. The End.” Rena Sofer (Quinn Fuller Forrester) shared a photo of her snuggled up to her fur baby on the couch, wishing everyone a, “Happy #nationaldogday!!! This is me and my Mega giving some side eye and kisses!!!! #lovemydog#adoptdontshop #foster#dogshealthesoul.” And Darin Brooks (Wyatt Spencer) shared a photo of the newest member of his family while behind the wheel of his car, “Happy #NationalDogDay !!! Days of our Lives

Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) posted, “Happy #nationaldogday!!! We’re celebrating with our two very special rescue dogs, Ozzy & Bean. They are such important members of our family. 🐶🥰 #internationaldogday#rescuedogsofinstagram #rescuedog#family.” Patrika Darbo (Nancy Wesley, Days of our Lives; Shirley Spectra, The Bold and the Beautiful) simply posted “Happy National Dog Day,” with a close up of her dog’s sweet, soulful eyes.

General Hospital

Rebecca Staab (Elizabeth Barrington, Port Charles), whose Instagram is filled with photos of dogs on a regular basis posted a few of photos, including one of her partner William deVry (Julian Jerome) and a couple of pups with the caption, “Happy #InternationalDogDay ! 💗🐶 #adoptdontshop#rescuedogsofinstagram #rescuedog#foster #volunteer #transport #donate#savealife @therealwildevry1.” She also posted a picture of her kissing a dog. Meanwhile, Sebastian Roche (Jerry Jacks) shared a photo of him cuddling with his pup with the words, “Happy #internationaldogday. Nothing better than having a canine member of the family. Love you Ziggy❤️#adoptdontshop”

The Young and the Restless

Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore Baldwin) shared a painting of her four-legged friend with the words, “Happy National dog day #nationaldogday from Buddha and Hazel. Painting by @gmilanesi.” As her The Bold and the Beautiful actor husband Darin Brooks mentioned, Kelly Kruger (Mackenzie Browning) posted a photo of their newly adopted pet, revealing the DNA results of the test they had to determine its breed. Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman), meanwhile, shared a photo of her two dachshunds and one of her rescue mixed terrier, “Happy #nationaldogday to my princess, Reilly! Rescued from #southcentralanimalshelter 4 years ago. Close to death, skin and bones, she is now in perfect health and the most loyal, loving dog I’ve ever had. A one man dog, I am proud to be her man!”
