‘Melrose Place’s’ Daphne Zuniga Weds David Mleczko in Private Ceremony

Primetime soap opera actress ties the knot.
Actress Daphne Zuniga, best known for her role as Jo Reynolds on primetime soap Melrose Place, married her longtime boyfriend, David Mleczko, on June 8 in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Soaps.com has the details. According to People, the couple met on a blind date 12 years ago. Zuniga wore a Nicole Miller gown at the private affair, which took place at the Oleana Restaurant, known for its Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine using fresh ingredients and aromatic spices, but there was no wedding cake. The bride said, “We opted not to do a cake because they have these world-class desserts.”

The family-only wedding ceremony was officiated by the couple’s close friend, Sharon Salzberg, New York Times best-selling author of Real Happiness – The Power of Meditation: A 28-Day Program. Zuniga and Mleczko, who is co-founder of Signature Green, a public relations and marketing firm that works with environmentally responsible companies, wrote their own vows, but had Salzberg read them. The actress explained, “But Sharon’s going to read them because we don’t think we can get through it without falling apart. I’ll still fall apart, are you kidding? It’s going to be like stuffing the Kleenex right in the dress.”
Zuniga has had significant stints on television series such as One Tree Hill and American Dreams and has been featured in numerous TV and Hallmark movies. Music lovers may also remember her appearances in videos such as Depeche Mode’s But Not Tonight or Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band’s Night Moves. It was her acting career that led to the decision to get married in a small ceremony. She explained, “I always had this fear of having too big of a wedding that I’d feel like I was going to be acting or performing because I’ve been a bride on-screen. In real life, I wanted it to be more poignant and private.”
