Soaps.com’s 2019 Daytime Emmy Predictions Filled With Surprises

The soap stars have submitted their Daytime Emmy reels from their 2018 scenes and here’s what we’re predicting…
Initially, when Soaps.com contacted The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) to request the Daytime Emmy Awards reels so that we could begin our award prediction process as we do each year for the daytime soaps including Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital and The Young and the Restless, NATAS was unable to provide them. They responded, “In consideration of requests for confidentiality, consistency, fairness and respect to all parties submitting materials for the 2019 Daytime Emmy® Awards, NATAS will not be supplying reels this year.” A few short days later, the outrage from various journalists, they changed their minds and allowed only the journalists to receive the reels. Unfortunately, for our readers, we must keep them private.
It’s never easy for us to predict who will win an Emmy, and we want to be respectful of all nominees with whom we admire for putting themselves out there. But here are our predictions which are solely based on scrutinizing each video without considering what we’ve seen from the actors throughout 2018 with the exception of the Best Drama Series which we guessed at because there were no reels for that category.
The Daytime Emmy reels were anywhere from 4 – 15 minutes in length. There were some compelling scenes and some very believable scenes which made the predictions a challenge. The runners up category runs in order from best performance to least.
