Soap opera stars will gather to celebrate 46th Daytime Emmy Awards.

Updated on February 13: For soap opera fans who would enjoy attending the 2019 Daytime Emmy Awards, Soaps.com is excited to share that tickets to the event are now available. Visit Ticketmaster for 46th Annual Daytime Emmy tickets today.

As we reported on September 18, 2018, it seems as though awards season just wrapped up, but even so, Soaps.com has the date for next year’s 2019 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony. To clarify to fans, in regards to last night’s 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) tweeted, “My yearly response tweet! NATAS does the @DaytimeEmmys , @sportsemmys , @newsemmys but not the Primetime Emmys. They are done by the other @TelevisionAcad in Los Angeles. News & Doc Emmys coming up on 10/1,” then went on to announce the date for the annual daytime ceremony, “Next Daytime Emmys on May 5th, 2019!”

It is still very early in the game so no other details are available as of yet. There may, however, be some changes in light of last year’s Daytime Emmy scandal when Patrika Darbo was stripped of her Daytime Emmy. A month later, all four soap operas threatened to boycott the Daytime Emmys unless major changes were made. The letter sent to the academy was signed by The Bold and the Beautiful’s VP of Communications, Bell-Phillip TV Prods Eva Basler, Sony Pictures Television’s SEVP of Programming Steven Kent, Days of our Lives’ Co-Executive Producer Greg Meng, General Hospital’s Executive Producer Frank Valentini, and Young and the Restless’ Supervising Producer John Fisher.
