Daytime actors celebrate primetime wins.
Last night the 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards aired on NBC at 8:00 PM from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California with Saturday Night Live stars Colin Jost and Michael Che leading the night as hosts. Soaps.com noticed a few daytime stars in attendance who not only glammed up for the ceremony but attended the after party and posted photos with some of the night’s big winners. SheKnows Soaps reporter Kristyn Burtt was also spotted looking beautiful on her way to the event…
Days of our Lives’ Vanessa Williams (Dr. Valerie Grant) attended the festivities and shared a photo from the Emmys After Party with actress Marla Gibbs (Florence Johnston, The Jeffersons) captioned, “The legendary @marlagibbs4real 4real 4Real! I know the #blackexcellence that paved a way for me! #standingonshoulders Thank you! @chethinks #emmyafterparty.” Among her numerous credits, Gibbs appeared on NBC’s Passions as Aunt Irma from 2004 to 2005. Williams posted another Instagram photo with Saturday Night Live comedian Leslie Jones and cheered, “@lesdogggg U ARE ALL THAT and CHIPS!!! Proud of you Sis! @chethinks #emmyafterparty Whoop Whoop!” And what better way for the Days actress to celebrate after the big night than to share a photo with Emmy host, writer, producer, actor Michael Che. “The @televisionacad host with most @chethinks #emmyafterparty @iamlajones Whoop whoop!”
The Young and the Restless’ Kate Linder (Esther Valentine) took to Instagram with various hashtags to congratulate Happy Days star Henry Winkler on his first Emmy win after four decades in television for Best Supporting Actor as Gene Cousineau on HBO’s Barry. “#emmycongrats #henrywimkler #sohappyforyou @televisionacademy.” She also posed with Regina King, who won for Lead Actress in a Limited Series as Latrice Butler on Netflix’s Seven Seconds.
Hunter King (Y&R’s Summer Newman) posted a photo of her sister Joey King (Life in Pieces’ Morgan) in a beautiful gown captioned, “You look like a DREAM Jo! (How the heck am I related to you?!) @zacposen this dress took my breath away? stunning. @joeyking #emmys2018.”
King’s former Y&R castmates, husband and wife duo, Justin and Chrishell Hartley (Adam Newman, Bethany Bryant) shared photos on their way to the event. While Justin thanked his stylists, “Ready for the #emmys2018 thanks to styling by @anitapatrickson and grooming by @andreapezzillo,” Chrishell expressed how proud she was of her husband, “Could not possibly be prouder of @justinhartley! He deserves all this and more.” Though Hartley’s This Is Us was nominated for Drama Series, the award went to Game of Thrones.
In our gallery below you’ll also find photos of General Hospital alum Ricky Martin (Miguel Morez) and husband Jwan Yosef and One Life to Live’s Judith Light (Karen Wolek). The soap opera alums were nominated for their roles in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story as Antonio D’Amico and Marilyn Miglin for Best Supporting Actor and Actress.

Hollywood is a journey, not a race. 2018 Guest ➡️ 2015 Red Carpet Reporter ➡️ 2008 Bleacher Seats… . Yesterday was my 10th anniversary at the #Emmys. 10 years ago, I wanted to be there so badly, that I tracked down the guy who hired seat fillers. Although it was too late, he sensed my persistence and gave me two tickets for the bleacher seats on the red carpet. I was at the table. Over the years my dream and journey morphed as I covered the official backstage gifting suite, the Creative Arts Emmys, the Primetime Emmys, the Governors Ball, the press room and attended as a guest twice now. It’s a great reminder that your dream should be shifting and morphing. If you’re staying stagnant in the same position each year, your life is doing the same. So keep shifting those dreams, aim higher and enjoy the bumps in the road. By 2028, maybe I will be producing the whole darn show. You never know. ??♀️ ⭐️?
