Daytime actors’ holiday celebrations.
Monday September 3 marked this year’s Labor Day holiday, which was considered the unofficial end of summer, and many soap opera actors took to social media to share their celebrations. Soaps.com has compiled posts from the Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless stars over Labor Day weekend.
Read a few details from the posts and be sure to scroll down to see all of the others as the daytime actors spent time with friends and family, attended festivals, toured parts of Canada, and more!
The Bold and the Beautiful’s Jacob Young (Rick) posted a photo of his daughters Grace and Molly swinging outside and sent holiday cheer, “Have a great Labor Day!” Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy) posted a colorful video to mark the long weekend, and Courtney Hope (Sally) posted one dancing with her GH boyfriend Chad Duell (Michael) and some friends to Nelly’s hit song Hot In Herre.
Days of our Lives’ Alison Sweeney (Sami) shared how her family spent the weekend and asked fans if they had any special holiday traditions, “Relaxing with the family this #labordayweekend , enjoying the beautiful mountain air. What’s your favorite way to appreciate this holiday weekend? Any fun traditions?” Eric portrayer Greg Vaughan and girlfriend Angie Harmon attended NASCAR’s Southern 500 Throwback Weekend at Darlington Raceway with their favorite driver Jimmie Johnson and posted, “Nothing like taking a pit stop to see our boy @jimmiejohnson #family.”
General Hospital’s Maurice Benard (Sonny) shared a photo of him and his wife during an outing with the caption, “My lovely wife and I hanging around in Whistler Canada.” Marc Anthony Samuel (Felix) spent time in the mountains and stated, “Finally got to hang with some more of my awesome neighbors on the mountain! More people to borrow a cup of sugar from!”
The Young and the Restless’ Eileen Davidson (Ashley), dressed in overalls, posted a video from the 37th Annual Malibu Chili Cook-Off. Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) spent time with a childhood friend and stated, “Friends since we were 4 years old Mara you still shine so brightly – love you guys,” while Melissa Ordway (Abby) took her daughter to a Farmers Market.
Looked up the origin of #LaborDay today…”Labor Day has its origins in the labor union movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.” And then I made this face. . . I love the concept, but it feels like a dream I wake up from only to find I’m still working more like an average of 14 hour days. The hustle is real, but I often want to quit. . . How do you balance work and family life and dare I even ask, “me time”? (A concept I’m admittedly horrible at).
