Holidays sometimes mean downtime for some soap operas.
The middle of May always brings pre-emption news for our beloved soaps. Soaps.com understands how upsetting it can be for some fans to hear that their favorite daytime drama will not be seen, due to the holiday. In this case, Memorial Day falls on Monday May 28 and will likely be a day where family and friends come together for BBQs, picnics, fireworks and all sorts of fun gatherings. While some fans will get to see their soaps, others won’t have to worry about setting their DVRs or missing new episodes of their stories. Please take note of all programming alerts due to the federal holiday…
CBS has planned uninterrupted coverage of their soaps and will air new episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless. Don’t forget to visit Soaps.com’s Bold and the Beautiful spoilers, plus Young and the Restless spoilers, to find out if the Abbotts, Newmans, or Winters clans are planning parties in Genoa City or if the Forresters and Spencers will take time out from their inner family feuds to enjoy some relaxation.
NBC’s Days of our Lives will be pre-empted for three dates in May and June. Due to the 122nd edition of the 2018 French Open, also known as Roland Garros, the soap will not be seen on Monday May 28, Thursday June 7 and Friday June 8. The tournament will be held at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France and is played on outdoor clay courts.
Like each year before, ABC will not air a new episode of General Hospital. However, it won’t be a total washout for fans since the network will air a repeat episode surrounding the residents of Port Charles. Stay tuned for an encore of the Friday April 13 episode, in which Robert and Anna searched for Henrik.
Look for regular programming to resume on Tuesday May 29, which means Soaps.com will be back with our daily soap opera recaps.
