Casting news for the month of January and beyond.

January’s comings and goings on Soaps.com included some “Big Brother” houseguests coming to “The Bold and the Beautiful,” a shocking character killed off on “Days of our Lives,” a beloved vet dropped from “General Hospital,” and a major actress leaving “The Young and the Restless.”

The Bold and the Beautiful:
Robin Givens will appear on “B&B” in February as Steffy’s obstetrician. Angela Bishop is returning as J.J. for Brooke and Ridge’s wedding. Othello Clark will reprise the role of Rick’s friend, Othello, down the road. “Big Brother” sweethearts Jessica Graff and Cody Nickson will appear on the soap near the end of February. Days of our Lives:
Kyler Pettis departed Salem as Theo Carver. Colin and Kyle Schroeder joined “Days” as Brady and Theresa’s son Tate Black. Thaao Penghlis’ character Andre DiMera was killed off, but he’ll continue to air in characters’ dreams and visions. Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe) is temporarily off-screen as the actress is on maternity leave. Christie Clark will return as Carrie Brady Reed in February, along with “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Lisa Rinna as Billie Reed. Deidre Hall is set to pull double duty again and play Hattie Adams in addition to Marlena Evans Black. Denice Duff is returning as midwife Wendy Taylor, and Robert Scott Wilson hinted serial killer Ben Weston may be back. “Sex and the City” star Gilles Marini announced he’s joining “Days” this summer. General Hospital:
Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) and Vinessa Antoine (Jordan Ashford) signed new contracts with “GH.” Jessica Tuck departed the show as drug runner Cassandra Pierce. Greg Evigan joined the soap as developer Jim Harvey. In a special episode focused on Ava Jerome’s character, Megan Ward reprised the role of Connie Falconeri while Bryan Craig returned as Morgan Corinthos. Ryan Carnes retuned as Lucas Jones, and his on-screen husband Brad, played by Parry Shen, also announced his upcoming return. Max Gail has been recast for a February debut as Sonny’s estranged father Mike Corbin. In a shocking move, Genie Francis (Laura Spencer Collins) was dropped from her contract. Anders Hove returned as the villain Cesar Faison, who shot and killed his on-screen son Nathan West (Ryan Paevey). Young and the Restless:
Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman) went on maternity leave, while Daniel Hall (Scott Grainger) revealed he’d be off-screen for a while as well. Max Shippee departed “Y&R” when his character Graham Bloodworth suffered a fatal overdose. Jason Canela appears in February as contractor Arturo, and Shanica Knowles is set to play a singer named Simone. Catherine Bach is returning as Anita Lawson in the near future. Finally, Melissa Claire Egan confirmed she was leaving the soap and her role as Chelsea Newman.
