Soaps.com’s Comings & Goings: Big Y&R return, GH star to Days

Casting news for the month of August.
August’s comings and goings on Soaps.com included a “General Hospital” star joining “Days of our Lives,” a surprise return of a “Young and the Restless” actress, and a sitcom star appearing on “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
The Bold and the Beautiful:
On “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Happy Days” actor Don Most played a handyman named Pete at the end of August. In surprising news, Rome Flynn revealed on Instagram that he was leaving the show and the role of Zende Forrester Dominguez. Days of our Lives:
James Lastovic departed “Days” when his character Joey Johnson was sent to jail for the murder of Ava Vitali. Morgan Fairchild, who joined the show as Anjelica Deveraux in June, also departed when her character died from a heart attack. It was announced that Chandler Massey would reprise the role of Will Horton, and Alison Sweeney would be back as his mother Sami Brady. Kassie DePaiva will be back on the show as Eve Donovan, and Eileen Davidson will be back for November sweeps, though it has not been announced which of her many characters she would be playing. Arianne Zucker will bow out as Nicole Walker. In an accidentally posted video on Vimeo it was revealed that Kyler Pettis, who plays Theo Carver, may be leaving “Days” by the end of the year. The same video revealed that Victoria Konefal had landed the role of Bo and Hope’s daughter, Ciara Brady. The big news for the month was that Daytime Emmy winner Tyler Christopher, who played Nikolas Cassadine on “General Hospital,” had joined “Days” in a top secret role, and that Louise Sorel is returning as Vivian Alamain. General Hospital:
Fans of William deVry’s Julian Jerome breathed a sigh of relief when it was announced he had signed a new contract to stay in Port Charles. ESPN2 host Stephen A. Smith will be making a return as Brick, and Drew Cheetwood is returning as ‘Magic’ Milo Giambetti. Actor Robert Palmer Watkins was as stunned as viewers when it was revealed he was dropped from the show as Dillon Quartermaine. It was announced that Alla Korot, who played Stacy Sloan on “General Hospital: Night Shift” in 2007, was returning to the show in an unnamed role. Robert Curtis Brown played Hayden’s father Raymond Berlin, and Brooklyn Rae Silzer was back as Emma Scorpio-Drake. Rick Ravanello, who played Garvey, wrapped up his run on “GH” when his character was killed off. Genie Francis and Jon Lindstrom will be off-screen for awhile as their characters Laura Spencer and Kevin Collins took Laura’s nephew Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel) back to boarding school in France. Young and the Restless:
Greg Rikaart, who had just left the show, was back as Kevin Fisher. In a series of flashbacks, Graham Taylor played a young Jack Abbott, Cathy Marks played Dina Mergeron, and Jonathan Stoddard portrayed John Abbott. Soaps.com exclusively revealed the return of Tamara Clatterbuck to the show as Cassie’s adoptive mother Alice Johnson. Wayne Knight of “Seinfeld” fame will play a music promoter, and Beth Maitland will return as Traci Abbott.
