Soap opera stars share Oscar celebrations and photos on social media

Daytime actors and Hollywood’s biggest night.
Last night the 89th Academy Awards ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. Across America, people gathered in front of their televisions to watch, some with friends and family, and others at swank parties. Before the show began, the stars arrived on the red carpet for interviews and to show off their designer outfits. ABC also aired the scenes of General Hospital actors recreating Oscar nominated movies during their red carpet special.
As the show began, the soap opera stars took to social media to sharing their own evenings watching the Oscars. A few stars even attended the event. Many of them shared photos of their parties or the food they were serving. Shout-outs and praises for the winners were also popular tweets. Viola Davis finally received her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Fences,” which many praised. Mahershala Ali became the first Muslim to win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in “Moonlight.” Emma Stone took home the Best Actress Oscar for “La La Land,” while Casey Affleck won Best Actor for “Manchester by the Sea.” The watercolor moment of the night that had everyone talking was when a serious mistake was made in announcing the best film. Presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway were handed the wrong envelope, the one for Best Actress, and upon seeing the title “La La Land,” Beatty announced that picture as the Oscar Winner. It was only when the cast and crew of “La La Land” took to the stage did they realize a mistake had been made and “Moonlight” was the real winner.
