Where are they now? Ray Wise, Maeve Quinlan, Trevor Donovan, Sherri Saum
Catching up with former soap opera stars as they engage in new projects.
This week Soaps.com has an exciting renewal to report, as well as a limited rock ‘n’ roll CMT musical, a sci-fi series, updates for a popular revival and two Young Artist Awards nominees…
Maeve Quinlan films scenes for Riley Parra.
Someone’s been missing in the offices of Forrester Creations on “The Bold and the Beautiful” for quite some time… Megan Conley, the faithful company secretary and confidant to many. Maeve Quinlan, who played the role from 1995 to 2006, recently filmed scenes for the upcoming Tello Films project “Riley Parra.” The sci-fi thriller follows a good cop, Riley Parra (Marem Hassler, “B&B” Forrester International employee, 2013), who works in a corrupt department. After she uncovers a citywide war between angels and demons, Riley must join forces with the angles to ensure the good side wins. Episode one of the series is scheduled to air on Saturday July 15. Quinlan will play Nina Hathaway in the series based on the books by Geonn Cannon and shared photos from the set.

Trevor Donovan in CMT’s Sun Records.
“Days of our Lives” alum Trevor Donovan, who played Jeremy Horton in 2007, will be appearing in the upcoming CMT limited scripted series “Sun Records.” The eight part drama is based on the Tony-Award winning musical and will take viewers on a journey through the birth of rock ‘n’ roll during the early stages of the civil rights movement in Memphis, Tennessee. During political changes and social unrest, three young artists set out on their rise to the top in the music industry. Donovan will play country music singer Eddy Arnold with Chad Michael Murray (“One Tree Hill”) as Sun Records founder Sam Phillips, newcomer Drake Milligan as Elvis Presley, Kevin Fonteyne (“Melissa & Joey”) as Johnny Cash, Christian Lees (“Parents”) as Jerry Lee Lewis, Jonah Lees (“Tale of Tales”) as Jimmy Swaggart plus various other stars. Tune in Thursday February 23 at 10:00 PM. Recently, Donovan appeared in Hallmark’s Love on a Limb alongside “As the World Turns” Ashley Williams.
Sherri Saum and Teri Polo’s The Fosters renewed for season five.
Former “One Life to Live” actress Sherri Saum (Keri Reynolds) and “Loving” alum Teri Polo (Kristin Larsen) have starred on the hit family drama “The Fosters” as Lena and Stef Adams Foster since its premiere in 2013 and will be back with season four this month. Fans can also look forward to another season to follow since the network renewed the series for season five, which will include its milestone 100th episode. The show follows lesbian couple Lena and Stef who raise a multi-ethnic blended family in San Diego, California. The season four premiere aired on January 31. Continue to tune in to Freeform on Tuesdays at 8:00 PM. Saum also played Vanessa Hart on “Sunset Beach” from 1997 to 1999 and is married to “One Life to Live” co-star Kamar de los Reyes. Back in May 2014, Soaps.com reported that Reyes and Saum welcomed twin boys.

Ray Wise’s Twin Peaks miniseries premiere date.
“The Young and the Restless’” Ray Wise (Ian Ward, 2014 to 2016) will be reprising his 1990s “Twin Peaks” role as Leland Palmer in the upcoming Showtime miniseries of the same name. The continuation of the original “Twin Peaks” series will consist of eighteen episodes set to premiere on Sunday May 21. The initial story followed the Twin Peaks, Washington murder investigation of homecoming queen Laura Palmer, led by FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan). Wise also played Leland in the 1992 special “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” and 2014’s “Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces.” Prior to that, he appeared as Jamie Rawlins on “Love of Life” from 1970 to 1976 and as Hal Rummley on “Days of our Lives” from 1982 to 1983. Last December, Soaps.com alerted fans to the upcoming film Shattered, starring Ray Wise, Arianne Zucker and Molly Burnett (“Days’” Nicole Walker and Melanie Jonas). MacLachlan will also return for the special and is featured in the newly released promo for the Showtime series.
