Where Are They Now? Bethany Joy Lenz to Colony, Jesse Metcalfe engaged

In this week’s column surrounding former actors of canceled soaps, Soaps.com has a primetime recast, engagement news, a stage production and a web series addition.

Bethany Joy Lenz (“Guiding Light’s” Michelle Bauer Santos, 1998 to 2000) will be turning up on the USA Network’s science-fiction drama “Colony.” Due to scheduling conflicts, Thora Birch had to step away from the role of software engineer Morgan. Fans can expect to see Lenz step into the recurring role during season two, which will return sometime in 2017. The former daytime star also plays April in “American Gothic” and Julie Riley in the 2016 film “Extortion.”
Jean Carol cast in Misguided.
“Guiding Light” alum Jean Carol (Nadine Cooper, 1988 to 2006) is the latest daytime actress to join the comedy web series “Misguided.” Written by Paul Gosselin, who had a lifelong dream of appearing on a soap and did so in a few day-player roles on “One Life to Live,” incorporated his dream into the series, which focuses on Paul, a soap fan, who aspires to become daytime’s next lead actor. Keep an eye out for Carol during season two in early 2017. Filming will take place this fall. The actress also played Florence Kennedy on “Sunset Beach” in 1999.

Corbin Bleu onstage in Holiday Inn: The New Irving Berlin Musical.
Corbin Bleu, who played Jeffrey King in the 2013 “One Life to Live” reboot, is taking his singing and dancing talents back onstage. In “Holiday Inn: The New Irving Berlin Musical,” Jim leaves showbiz behind for a quiet life in Connecticut. Song and dance is in his blood and after meeting a schoolteacher named Linda, both work to turn his farmhouse into an inn, where they put on performances to highlight various holidays. However, Jim’s friend Ted (Corbin Bleu) arrives and tries to convince Linda to return to Hollywood with him as his new dance partner, which leaves Jim fighting for a chance at love. The play officially opens on Thursday October 6 and runs through Sunday January 15, 2017 at Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street in New York, New York. Jesse Metcalfe engaged.
“Passions” and “Dallas” alum Jesse Metcalfe (Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald, Christopher Ewing) is no longer single, having recently gotten engaged to longtime girlfriend fashion blogger Cara Santana (“Salem,” “Major Crimes”) last month. People reported the couple, who’ve been together for over a decade, purchased a new home together. Soaps.com sends well wishes for a lifetime full of happiness! Metcalfe currently plays Trace Riley on the Hallmark Channel original series Chesapeake Shores, which airs Sundays at 9:00 PM.
