Casting news.

August’s comings and goings included exciting guest star news for “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful,” notable returns on “General Hospital,” and new casting calls for “Days of our Lives.”

The Bold and the Beautiful:
Aaron D. Spears popped back in August as Justin, Ashleigh Brewer returned at month’s end as Ivy, and news broke that the role of Brooke and Ridge’s son, R.J. had been SORAS’d and would now be played by teen actor Anthony Turpel. “B&B” also had big guest star news, as Perez Hilton revealed he would be appearing on more than one upcoming episode. Days of our Lives:
In August, Henderson Wade played Officer Frank Dozer, and Matthew Ashford made another appearance in Salem as an apparition of Jack. “DOOL” put out a casting call for four short-term roles: Con artist Tiffany, lazy Toby, menacing Russ, and a classy European named Grigor. News broke that George DelHoyo will return as Orpheus, Paul Telfer will be back as Xander, Marsha Clark will reprise her role of Judge Fitzpatrick, and return dates for James Read as Clyde, and Jaime Lyn Bauer as Dr. Laura Horton were set. General Hospital:
Jacklyn Zeman returned to Port Charles as Bobbie, Stephen A. Smith was back as Brick, Tristan Rogers reprised the popular role of Robert Scorpio, and Ashley Jones popped back as Parker. Also in August, Ingo Rademacher wrapped up his latest stint as Jax, and Genie Francis took vacation so won’t seen as frequently as Laura. News broke that Bradford Anderson is due back as Spinelli, Wally Kurth will return as Ned, and Nicholas Bechtel was absent as Spencer after August 26. The Young and the Restless:
Chrishell Stause was back in August as Bethany, Angell Conwell popped in as Leslie, and Michael Roark sailed back into Genoa City as Travis. Nichelle Nichols of “Star Trek” fame was on as Neil’s mother, Lucinda, and news broke that “Married With Children” alum David Faustino would do a guest appearance as GC Buzz’s Howard Green, and Jerry Douglas would return as John Abbott’s ghost. “Y&R” fans said goodbye to Miles Gaston Villanueva this month as Luca’s storyline came to an end. Finally, a casting call went out for a leading man named ‘Dean’, that some speculated might be a recast Adam Newman, given Justin Hartley’s uncertain future on the show.
