Adam Mayfield in Blend In.
Adam Mayfield, best known for his “All My Children” role as Scott Chandler, has taped scenes for the television pilot “Blend In.” Directed by Nicolas Wendl, the actor plays Dr. Colin in the half-hour sitcom as five people from different countries head to Los Angeles to live out their American Dream. As the friends share life’s highs and lows, one thing is for sure… friendship and fun weighs out in the end. Mayfield made a brief return to daytime in 2015 as “Days of our Lives’” Ted Carpenter and had a guest role on “NCIS” earlier this year.
Lori Loughlin to guest-star on Blue Bloods.
“Fuller House” star and “The Edge of Night” alum Lori Loughlin (Jody Travis) will be heading to CBS this fall for a guest role on “Blue Bloods.” The actress will play a police officer’s widow, Grace, who goes to Frank (Tom Selleck, “Y&R’s Jed Andrews) for help in her quest to make sure her son doesn’t follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming a cop. Season seven returns at 10:00 PM on Friday September 23. Loughlin can also be seen as Jennifer in Hallmark Movies and Mysteries’ “Garage Sale Mysteries” films as well as Abigail Stanton in “When Calls the Heart.”

Taye Diggs lands recurring role on Empire.
Taye Diggs started out his acting career back in 1997 playing Adrian ‘Sugar’ Hill on CBS’ “Guiding Light” and has had roles in some of primetime’s most popular series including “Private Practice,” “The Good Wife,” “Rosewood” and “Murder in the First.” Next for the actor will be a recurring role on the FOX hit “Empire.” Diggs will play an affluent city councilman named Angelo Dubois. Look for his first appearance during the season three premiere on Wednesday September 21.

Renee Elise Goldsberry to star opposite Oprah Winfrey in The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.
“One Life to Live” alum and Tony Award winner Renee Elise Goldsberry (Evangeline Williamson) has been cast to play Henrietta Lacks in the upcoming HBO film “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.” The story follows an African-American named Henrietta Lacks whose cells helped create the first immortal human cell line. Told through her daughter Deborah Lacks (Winfrey) viewers will travel along as she learns about the mother she never knew – the mother who helped changed many lives through 1951 medical breakthroughs. Winfrey will also act as a co-executive producer. Stay tuned for its release.
David Chisum in GMC Sierra commercial.
Watch closely or you might miss David Chisum in this GMC Sierra commercial. Soaps.com did a quick rewind and confirmed that the man behind the wheel was in fact the former “One Life to Live” (Miles Laurence) and “Sunset Beach” (Brett, 1999) actor. In the commercial showcasing the active noise-canceling feature in the 2016 GMC Sierra, Chisum’s character takes a call from his son without bring distracted with road noise. Aside from appearing in other commercials, most recently the actor turned up on “NCIS” in February and “Major Crimes” in July.
